John Tartaglia TV Series in the Works

From Playbill.com:

"A new television series for former Avenue Q star John Tartaglia is in the works.

TV Guide reports that the Disney Channel will offer 'Johnny and the Sprites' some time in 2006. The TV tome says that the show is a 'musical fantasy series' created especially for the award-winning actor-puppeteer. No air date has been announced."

Congratulations, Johnny. I'm sure this series will be extremely successful.

Wait a minute! Is this going to air on "Disney Channel" or "Playhouse Disney?"

(I think that most likely it will air on the latter because of the puppets.)

I'm glad he's getting all these jobs, like Joe's Pub, Q in Vegas, and now the Disney Show, because he's one of my favorite performers, and I've missed his performance since January! Congrats, Johnny...you deserve it all!

Hooray! That's so exciting!
Can't wait for the show!
And I think Johnny being on the show is gay-enough content for the kids. I mean, I love Johnny, but he's not the "straightest" of the bunch. Kids will definitely respond to him in a good way. And it's a "musical fantasy series," who knows what's going to be on it? I love Disney Channel/children's shows so I'm super excited! Whee!

Well, he's going back to his roots and doing children's television. And I love me some children's television. Haha. O "Sesame Street"... I was so excited to meet Bill Irwin just because he was Mr. Noodle on Elmo's World. So, I think Johnny will find lots of success here.

I, too, think the show should/will be very successful-- it sounds like it should be just wonderful. Three cheers for John and all the success he is finding, will find and has found--he deserves to go far :) He is such a great guy...

My suspicions are that the show would air with the Playhouse Disney programming because its being classified as a childrens' show, but that just means it'd be on at a certain time block in the day, for the most part--it's the same station after all...

a little off topic, but does anyone know if i could go to his ad liberty performance at the 4th and buy tickets at the door? what are the chances of it being sold out beforehand and not being able to?

Yay for Johnny! I'm looking forward to this. And yeah, as far as I know, "Playhouse Disney" is just their blanket title for their block of programs for young kids, it's all still the Disney Channel.
