Travolta was honored last week at a party thrown by Bernadette Peters and Glenn Close to toast John Travolta's star turn as Edna Turnblad in the film version of "Hairspray" - for which he just received a Golden Globe nomination. Read more here for who else was there and why the article ended with the line "Those Broadway people can be such bitches."

That is too funny. It's probably true too.I wonder which one of the two would be the top.

Personally, I thought John Travolta was the weak part of Hairspray.

I don't think that article is Scientology-approved.

I heard that one of Kelly Preston's pet peeves is when John leaves Crumms on the bed.

volta has at least one Broadway credit himself: a show in the 70s (before "Kotter") called "Over Here" featuring the two then-surviivng Andrews Sisters and set in World War II. (Kind of a fun show -- I saw it.)

All the songs were written to bear some resemblance to Big Band tunes. Travolta played a drummer and he did a song called "Dream Drummin'" which sounded a good bit like "Take the A Train."

If you ever get a chance to get the album, you might enjoy it.

One of those really fun Broadway shows that nobody ever produces.
