They should have let NO ONE sing that damn ugly song.

Damn! Wish I had a tv here! LOL I assumed he would try to butch it up. I wonder if he has been coached about that? Do they teach that at AMDA? I like to hear him sing,,,, but man when he talks...

Josh literally sounded like a woman when he sang his 4 lines today-and being that Phil has a pretty high voice...that's disturbing. At least write Tarzan's songs in a MANLY key.

Okay, who sings the opening of Two Worlds? Is that Josh or Merle?

Oh GetHer- you just crossed the line. I love Jenn Gambatese, I think she has a beautiful voice. You may not think so, but she's wonderful, in my opinon. I havent seen TARZAN, as of yet, but I plan to, and I don't find her to mediocre at all

After seeing him in Tarzan, as a gay man I was a little offended he didnt make it on American Idol. I only remember Simon making a commment about him looking like Ryan Cecrest. After that I dont know what happened to him. Did the producers bump him for being to obviously gay? He can definetly sing and he's a great looking guy. It's so strange he wasn't up there with Aiken and Studdard that year. He should have sued somebody.

My back was to the tv when Josh was singing and I had to turn around because I thought there was a woman singing... but to my surprise... It was Josh

I still love Josh. He was born with that voice and he is making the best of it. Many effeminate men are born like that. He's very talented and committed to the role. I'd like to see how many theatre queens from this board would be comfortable enough in their own skin to do 8 shows a week in a loincloth with everyone judging. Also, I wonder how many of you theatre queens sound like girls as well. I'm sure there's a few of you screaming outside of stage doors for Liza or some other gay icon. Give it a rest. Also, if you ever saw Josh at a party or a bar I'm sure you'd all be kissing his a#@! Take a chill pill with the crucifixion of Josh Strickland.

The View had WICKED for Halloween, I think last year.

Mateo - they've had a few. They had Euan singing from Taboo when Rosie was on and they also had a song from Wicked.
I don't mind that he's sounds a little feminine, but I'm still amazed at how the Disney producers saw him and thought "wow, he's IS Tarzan. He embodies everything about the character." That just doesn't make sense. He doesn't have this overly masculine quality to him nor does his singing voice. But oh well, he got the part.

I missed him on "The View," but thought he was quite good in "Tarzan." Didn't love the show, but found him committed and talented.

Aww, wish I saw this...it's sad that even the View is on too early for me.
Can anyone summarize what happened? Then I could follow the discussion.
Personally, I think it's disgusting that when not playing the part, he should have to or try to act more "masculine" or whatever. It's who he is. I mean, one day at the stage door he came out in a very feminine ensemble and I cracked up, but hey, power to him. I mean, it's Broadway. It's not like it would be shocking to know that a Broadway actor is gay. I heard he was told to try to be less feminine at the stage door. That's just awful.
Personally, I think he does a great job at playing Tarzan, and being "masculine" enough at least, and such. Still, I think that's the only place he should have to try to do that.
