So he is not in Piazza at the Shaw Festival because of some commitment on Broadway opening in the next year. Any idea what it might be?
I know Soul Doctor is opening on Broadway this year. There was a casting notice for it.

Someone else mentioned Rocky. Are they doing more workshops? Etc.
I don't think he'd make a very inspired choice.
Hard to tell from that awful costume in JCS, but he just doesn't have much of a presence, I thought.
Love Josh, but I don't know if his operatic voice is right for Rocky (which I would imagine would have a rock/edge to it) - then again, it was not right for JCS and he was Tony nominated.
Tony nominated in a weak category in a weak year. And he was the best part of an awful production.
I'm curious to know what show he'd be coming to Broadway with? And he said he has another engagement, which is what is conflicting with Piazza. What would that be? Hm.

I can 100% guarantee you that Soul Doctor will not be coming anywhere near broadway in the foreseeable future
It's Joy Dewing Casting, so I know it's not going to Broadway, but the casting notice doesn't specify where it's opening, but it does same "the new Broadway musical."

The direct conflict is Che in the national tour of Evita.
I have also heard that Young is playing Che in the EVITA tour (which he previously played in Stratford.)
Oh, he'd make a great Che. I'd love to see that actually.
But he said he'll be doing a show that will be on Broadway in 12 months? Is the Evita tour that short?

Did he not already play Che in the Canadian production of Evita where Chilina Kennedy -also in JCS- played the title role?
Damn I was looking forward to him in Piazza.
Yeah, the article says he played Che before. I would have liked to have seen that production. She is an interesting choice. I didn't think her voice was very strong.
It will be interesting to see him in this since his Stratford Che was based on the real Che Gevarra, whereas the revival Che (as played by Martin) was more of an open-ended character.
I wonder if this tour will keep the same design? That set was pretty darn massive and beautiful.
