I can't believe they picked someone who isn't Mary Testa. What a great talent
who the heck is Judy Gold anyway...
i was surprised Mary Testa didn't appear in the Broadway production.

So, I imagine, was she.
It's strange to me that Testa would be recast- while she's not a name to the general public, she's fairly well known among regular theatregoers (at least on the level of Faith Prince and Kerry Butler) and she's a huge talent. Hopefully she'll be back soon- she was so great in First Daughter Suite in the fall.
I agree, Wonderfulwizard11. Testa is a great talent and a very down-to-earth one at that. I heard so many good things about her in First Daughter Suite that I sincerely hope she wins some kind of award for it- maybe a Lortel?
Just curious, who replaced her in Disaster? Was it Faith Prince?
Didn't she miss a lot of performances off-broadway? No wonder she is not surprised nobody asked her. I've seen two of her off-Broadway plays and she is hilarious.

Mary Testa and Tom Riis Farrell were in the roles now occupied by Faith Prince and Kevin Chamberlin.

Mary Testa only missed a few performance off Broadway, but left to do bigger things (Wicked, I believe?) She was replaced by Annie Golden for a while and then Judy Gold.
I am sure she is fine not being asked to move to Broadway, especially since she left the show months before it closed OB. Her name kind of legitmized the Off Broadway run, I feel.... Now she probably feels like she dodged a bullet
For what it's worth, the addition of stars for Disaster! on Broadway is one of the things that makes it a lot less fun and entertaining....The smaller names were better and the show was better for it, I feel.
Loved it Off Broadway, hated it on.

The only one I've seen complaining (on Facebook at least) is Michelle Ragusa, who was only in the show for the first month and then gave notice....and she hadn't done either of the other versions of the show, so it doesn't seem like she has much room to complain about anything....
