Posted: 7/29/05 at 10:52amI love this play. About two months ago, I finished a run of this show (playing Pip & Theo), and I loved it more and more each week. Such a well written, multi-layered script. I may have to book a trip to NYC to see this. I can't wait to see who they cast in the two male roles.

Posted: 7/29/05 at 11:14amI like Julia Roberts just fine in movies but... Broadway??? I read an article today in the NY Times that she has virtually no theater experience. Come on now, shouldn't you have to pay some dues theaterwise before you do Broadway? I know these producers want a star name for the $$$ but I'd rather see a legit stage actor in the part. No offense to Julia, I'll still like her, but just on the big screen.

"Was it the role in REQUIEM FOR A DREAM that Ellen Burstyn competed with her for the Oscar? I've just seen the DVD and Ellen's performance was truly outstanding. "
Yes. There were so many wonderful performances by female actors that year -- the aforementioned Burstyn, Bjork in Dancer in the Dark, Laura LInney in You Can Count on Me, Gillian Anderson in The House of Mirth -- yet J.Ro won for donning a wonder bra.

Posted: 7/29/05 at 4:13pmHey everybody wants to work! I don't agree with it but look all over the country Georgia Engel just starred in the new nunsense show in some small town in Michigan! Now I'm not comparing her with Julia, however its harder to get work with all the REALITY SHOWS so these big actors actually are starting to need to branch out and try something different. They can be had for much less money now, and as unfortunate as it is, broadway producers think they need names to sell shows. Too bad its a fabulous show!

my feelings about this reflect the way i feel about all those pop stars putting out standards albums...maybe those people who wouldn't normally see a play will go, discover they like theater and go see and support someone elses play later. i think it reflects well on b'way or NY theater in general--that this is the place to be.
people will be lining up to crap on her. it will be a lot of pressure. i'll believe it when i see it. i find her truly watchable but i can't stand her voice.
since when are oscars given out for performances?

From thesuperficial.com:
After taking a break to care for her eight month old twins, Julia Roberts is going to star on Broadway next year in the revival of Three Days of Rain, which will debut for a 12 week engagement starting in March 2006. This is a huge disappointment to fans everywhere who had been hoping she would star in Blue Man Group instead. Call me crazy, but I think that's what Julia Roberts' true calling is. Playing a bald blue man.
