Catherine is SO hot, thank you Spidey!
I had the pleasure of dancing alongside Julie Andrews in Eloise at the Plaza. It still sort of feels like a dream.
Haven't heard her in PD2 yet....I'm scared. I need my tonsils out but I'm terrified of anyone going near my throat with a knife because of what happened to her.

you NEED to tell them that you are a singer and for them to be careful. I did that when I had surgery and they used a smaller tube to put down my throat and the lubed it up more so it slid down more easily (Please no sexual comments to this....thank you in advance) and cautiously. But, please tell them

Julie Andrews didn't have much of a voice in Victor/Victoria and that was long before the infamous surgery. She had already lost quite a bit of her range just from the natural aging process, and apparently not really working her voice out as she should have been to smooth the process along.

Don't get me wrong, I worship the lady, but it is most apparent in the "The King and I" recording as well.

I saw her hosting Broadway Love Songs a few years ago and she talked through most of what she did but the audience was SO supportive of her, clapping and yelling when she sang.
What a shame. No amount of money won in a law suit can bring back those great pipes. I feel so badly her for her that she's lost that because when you LOVE to sing, it has to be torture to know you can never again do what you love.

What exactly happened - was it because of surgery, or was this something she knew was going to happen because of the surgery?
Anyways, are you sure it wasn't Raven that made you cry?

She developed nodules during the run of "Victor/Victoria" that necessitated surgery after the show closed and the doctor botched the operation. She won a settlement from him, but there's nothing that'll fix that voice.

That makes me very sad about Julie's voice. I have to go watch the Sound of Music to cheer me up. Captain VonTrapp is almost as hot as Catherine.

People used to say that I could easily play Julie Andrews' son if ever a production called for it (redhead, good british accent, tall, incredibly handsome...LOL...well - tall anyway...)
I have loved her from the moment I first saw her twirling away on top of that mountain...and I got a chance to see her in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Putting it Together...she's great in anything she does (and if you want a real shock - rent SOB and be amazed at her fantastic breasts!)

Julie Andrews will be back directing The Boyfriend at the Goodspeed Opera House in 2005! Maybe I'll see her there if I go...

The Boyfriend is the show that launched her career, catapulted her to prominence, brought her America, and led to her getting the role of Eliza that made her a star. So, because of that, she obviously has a great personal attachment to the show.

IMHO, Julie should have NEVER done "Victor/Victoria" on stage. The show was truly beneath her talents!!! I kept thinking as I was watching this "trainwreck", here is a woman who was in the original Broadway casts of "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot"- she must know that this is BAD!!! I know her devotion to her husband, but come on!! But Julie is also a very talented actress as well. I love her in "Hawaii" and "The Americanization of Emily". What play could she do? Can't wait for the 40th ann. DVD of "Mary Poppins"!! Just got the single DVD in January (oh, well!)

she had one of the most beautiful voices at one time..its a good thing we can listen to old recordings and still be able to hear it. since it sadly is not what it was anymore.
