The scenery was very original, and suited all atmosphere of the story.
If any of you have the chance (or the time) read the book. After seeing the show, of course. While I liked both versions, I thought the book was much better, despite it's terrible beggining. Just some advice. I think I'll go see this in December...
Oh, and an interesting story: I saw this show in London 1 3/4 times. The reason? Well, the set malfunctioned, and they couldn't get the middle opening to work. As a result, they were going to plow through the rest of the second act. (It occured right after that "Lost Souls" number.) My dad, being the one with all the bright ideas, decided to leave and come back the next night because he wanted to see it done the right way. Of course, the next morning, I go to the box office, very angry, and we got seats for that night in Row J, dead center. I thougt the first act was far superior to the second act, contrary to most people's opinions, and the show needed some serious editing towards he end, as it dragged like a slug carrying a building. Either way, I was glad I got to see it with the original cast with Micheal Ball and two understudies for Sir Percival Glyde and Mr. Fairlie. I wish this one well.
