Just seeing if their was any talk of this happening. I think that she should be Belle.
She's too good for that mess of a show...put her in something good.
I think it's too soon for there already to be an established buzz on this, but I'm sure people will be after her to do theatre.
I wouldn't count on her accepting any roles just yet - she will be very busy for a while with record deals and the idol tours.
thats true I had heard it on the tv and by the time I got back into the room I missed it.

every week they said how "broadway" she was... i never saw it. she did not seem comfortable on stage at all to me, and did not have the voice for stage musicals.
After her "Over the Rainbow," she can definitely do Broadway. Absolutely.

I don't tend to follow Idol that, much, but my parents were watching Fox and Friends yesterday, and she was making an appearance on the show; she apparently was a senior at a theatre school in Boston (I think it was Boston) before she left to be on Idol, so she does have training.

I saw on Fox 5 tonight that Steven Spielberg supposively wants to have a meeting with her for a movie.

kat may have a voice suitable for broadway, but i don't think she can act it. didn't you notice that she ALWAYS smiled, winked and waved through songs, including the ones about her heart breaking, etc. (i can't think of specifics but i'm certain she did cause it really bugged me) she doesn't pay attention to lyrics at all.
She played The Baker's Wife in the Boston Conservatory's production of "Into The Woods" I believe...

Really? I almost went and saw that. Shame I didn't...
I saw on Access or Extra or something like that that Speilberg contacted her. I found that odd, but, good for Katherine. She's stunningly beautiful, and has one helluva voice. She'll be successful one way or another.
My jaw dropped during her "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
i almost went and saw that production of Into the Woods too! i'm mad now...

Les Mis perchance?

Why else would you bank on an American Idol runner-up's "star quality" unless you wanted them to sing?

I've seen Katharine in two musicals in CA. As Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, and in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir at the NoHo Arts Center. She was very good in both. As much as I wish her well with the pop stuff, I like her better in musicals.
I saw her for a moment on Larry KIng (which was hosted by Ryan Seacrest. If you've lived for over a decade in Los Angeles, you had enough of him when he was color commentary on Channel 5 with the biggest overbite in the world - that's been fixed). Anyway, Katherine was talking about "reviewing her options in film and TV." Sigh. Guess she's coming in my direction...

Katharine was a musical theatre major at Boston Conservatory and has performed in many musicals, both there and in California. There's no doubt that she could be added to the long list of Idol contestants who have gone on to stage work, she actually has experience!
I'm a die-hard Taylor fan, and am not a real fan of hers, but I can see Katharine doing a show sometime down the road. Not sure what role in what show, she'll grow and change, but I bet someday she'll be on Broadway.

Yes, and she'd left the Conservatory because she'd gotten an agent in L.A. and was pursuing stage and film work. Then Idol came along. She admitted it sounded very cliche, but that she'd grown up in L.A. and had always been interested in acting.
No thanks, she was terrible on Idol. Only good singers belong on Broadway.
I don't know about Broadway musicals, but she is very pretty and could probably do film. But let's just wait and see. She surprised me with "Over the Rainbow" on AI, maybe she'll surprise us again.
i agree with most everyone on this sentiment. Kat has an amazing voice and her charisma rocked the house. she was much better at playing "genuine" than Kelly Pickler
She was nommed for the LA Ovation award for Annie Get Your Gun, which is pretty cool.
While I dont think she quite has the power for Elphaba, I do think she'd be a great Fran Kubelick in Promises, Promises.
