Haven Burton's Margot was not very good. However, her Elle Woods was out of this world. I was shocked at how much better she was as Elle than she was as Margot.

She's going to be in Shrek, in a featured role, and (along with Jen Cody) will be covering Sutton Foster.

Where did you hear that about the understudies? I love Jen Cody to death, but I don't think they'd have her understudying Sutton Foster.

That's what I was told at the stage door - that she'd been fighting something and wasn't feeling great. And she looked a bit flushed when I saw her after the show - though that could be caused by any number of things.

I watched the Youtube footage of Haven Burton in "What You Want" and she was just doing what couldn't even charitably be called "ethnic movement." She certainly wasn't dancing most of the part.

And that makes me wonder, is this normal? Does the sub just sort of fake it through the dance routines? I ask this because I haven't seen that many shows where the understudy goes on (just lucky, I guess).

Becky danced alot when I saw her both times- but I didn't see Haven so idk about that one.

allofmylife - No, the understudy never "fakes" it through the dancing or show (I would hope no performer "fakes" any performance), it's just that with Haven... well... let's just say she's never been the greatest dancer. Even as Margot, she always seemed lacking in the dancing department, especially compared to the other soriority girls, particularly during What You Want and Positive. I love her voice though. :)

Just saying, it's not ALL understudies.

Man, you can't fake "What You Want." She seemed to be sleepwalking on youtube. That's just... along with all the replacements (seven subs in one night) that show is really starting to get old fast.

Yeah, when I saw it in January, Haven was the weakest in the dance area, and it was noticable. I think that I probably could do better than that and i'm not even close to being a Broadway. lol.

I don't really remember how much Haven danced. All I remember is how GORGEOUS she was(well is).
