I assume you weren't addressing my post, because I never said or implied that Sweet Charity was "family friendly." I just said I would like to see that talented trio in a TV broadcast of Sweet Charity.
And I would!
Shirley performed "It's Not Where You Start" at her Live at the Palace gig. It was a mainstay of her Vegas act for years.

Thank you, Pal Joey :)
I wasn't referring to anyone in particular Best. I just know they keep saying that Meron and Zedon want something family friendly. No matter how loudly we Broadway fans beg for something with a little more edge or "integrity". I get the logic but a guy can dream.
Karen & everyone except Anna impressed me. I can't quite describe it but what was up with her body carriage? She may be short & have the least stage performance experience but how could you help her walk & present herself less schlumpy? Just more dance classes & rehearsals in mirrored rooms?

I was thrilled to see Karen, particularly singing such a lovely song. I'm not surprised she's taking a break...every time I've come in contact with her she has seemed withdrawn and unsatisfied (no offense meant, just an observation). I hope she's feeling better.
Contrary to popular opinion, I found Anna Kendrick to be particularly magnetic and her voice to be gorgeous. In fact, I thought that as the tribute went on, the ladies got more interesting (ie: Sutton doing her same-old, culminating with Anna, who has that "belty ingenue thing" that Sutton brought to us...what...nearly 15 years ago, with Millie? Oh god.)
Those are the wrong kind of hats for "If My Friends Could See Me Now." That's my biggest issue here.
No besty I was replying to SweeneyLovett who replied just below you. You obviously didn't read it.
Anna Kendricks always looks permanently pissed off.
