Karen Ziemba in Curtains?

Does anyone know when Karen Ziemba is taking a vacation from "Curtains"? I want to be sure and see it when she is in it.

Her vacation is the first full week of December.

Second - are you sure about the dates that Karen Ziemba will be on vacation? Usually the show week is from Tue-Sun and I would have thought that her vacation would have been Tue 12/4 - Sun 12/9.

I love CURTAINS. I've seen it a few times already and I'm sure I'll go back. I always have a good time.

You're right MC - KZ is on vacation 12/4 - 12/10. I'm going to try to see the show that week so I can see what Darcie Roberts does with the role. A friend of mine saw her as replacement for KZ on Oct 20 and he said she was wonderful. So I'll have to venture in to check it out. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

Unfortunately not uncaged - her first day back would be the 7:00 performance on Tuesday 12/11.

I feel so bad for you. Can you change your plans or are they locked in?

If you can make it to NY before Ziemba leaves the show permanently, you should definitely go see CURTAINS. Debra Monk and David Hyde Pierce are brilliant in their roles, but Ziemba's Georgia is not to be missed. One of those performances I am overjoyed I had a chance to see live, her "Thinking Of Me" left my eyes teary, and her "Thataway" blew my mind out.

For those hoping to see Darcie Roberts when Karen Ziemba is on vacation... Darcie recently left the company. Bridget Berger has replaced her. Bridget and Paula Leggett Chase are the understudies for Ziemba's role.

The show also currently has the amazing David Elder in the company for a few weeks covering Jim Newman, although Elder subbed this week for Noah Racey while he was on vacation.

Wait- what? David Elder?? That's awesome! I had no idea he was doing Curtains! Would've loved to see him go on for Noah...

I saw Darcie play Georgia awhile back and she did a wonderful job and got a huge hand after "Thataway." She has, obviously, a much different voice than KZ - more of a pop sound as opposed to KZ's classic Broadway belt. I really enjoyed her acting, as well. It's too bad she's gone but I'm sure Bridget will do the role justice.

ETA: Elder's really fun to watch, as well. He does a back handspring during Kansasland, which surprised the heck out of me. Updated On: 11/4/07 at 11:58 AM
