Im not sure if this has been discussed before...but does anyone know what Kate is up to, post-Wicked in Chicago? I love her to death and was just wondering.

The rumor mill has her doing Wicked in NYC beginning May 30....

this IS infact true. I have heard the news from 3 people IN the show...including Kate herself. She will be playing Glinda once Megan leaves.

sparkless, NOTHING is normal and anything is possible in the show biz! kate earned her spot to be on bway..good for her.
i am really sad that Megan is leaving..but it is Megan i am DYING to play Elle Woods..so now she will be FREE! can't wait to see whats next for her and i will surely be there to see her!

Oh I'd LOVE to see Kate as Glinda. I loved her as Danity June and really want to see her in another show.

has anyone ever seen the show ..the PLAY when it was on HBO years ago? a lot of you aren't even old enough but it was wonderful! it will be a great musical..well, it COULD be if they don't mess it up! LOL!

I've never seen Katie Adams or Kate Reinders, im sure both are good, but I would be so pissed if i was Katie Adams and I lost the spot i was sure i would get...from what i'd heard most standbys typically take over the role...so i'd assume someone up there either loves Kate Reinders a lot, or hates Katie Adams...

eh...i am sure Katie Adams (does she have any leading or featured Bway credits, BTW?) is pro enough to know that nothing is guaranteed. i would be surprised if she were PISSED...disappointed ..sure. Kate R. has senority if they are going by that..i have always felt that someone who plays the role on the road or in another city for a long period of time...should be the next to move into the bway company rather than a stand-by...now, the stand-by can always be the one to go out and replace on the road!! no one ever knows what will happen til it happens!! you can even be on the road..doing a role for a year and a half and be TOLD that you'll be the next to go to Bway when the spot opens...and then they decide to do something else..it happened to me with Miss Saigon! i was disappointed but something even more wonderful came along for me! everything happens for a reason. i hope Katie is ok with everything..and sticks it out. her day will come!

I'm very excited about this. I just bought tickets a few weeks ago for mid July (I have family members coming into town who want to see it). I knew Megan would be gone and was wondering who'd take over. Having seen Kate in everything she's done (even the debacle known as Good Vibrations), I'm a huge fan of hers. The rest of the cast is great. Even my hero, Steve Rhoads..err...David Garrison, is in it! Now if only Murney was Elphaba....

That's true...and Stephanie did wait to play Elphie. I wonder if Kendra will ever make it to Broadway? i have to think after a while she has to get tired of playing Glinda...

and i think ANYONE would get tired..LITERALLY of playing either of those roles..even for a month let alone a year!
i am exhausted just THINKING about it! LOL...
not to beat a dead horse..but i think its more expected (and HOPED) as a stand by to be sent on tour before you take the role over on bway.

Aw, yay Kate Reinders!! I'm excited for her, I saw/met her several times at Wicked in Chicago, and not only was she absolutely hysterical as G(a)linda but she's just about the cutest person I've ever met. I agree with whoever said she'd be perfect as Elle Woods!

I've seen three Kate's as Glinda (Katie Adams, Kate Reinders, and Kate Loprest) and all three of them were outstanding!

what is it with the name katie...or just K's in general (Kendra) playing that role?? haha.
