Someone posted a video of it on the site. I find her voice very weak for this song, and she sounds sooo bored while singing it. Link to the video is below, let me know what you think :)

It's legendarily bad, passed around for years and years on copies of copies of copies of cassette tapes before digitizing and YouTube.
But make no mistake: Kay Medford was still a brilliant actress and comedienne. In addition to playing Fanny's mother in Funny Girl on Broadway AND in the film (for which she was nominated for an Oscar), she was the original Mae in Bye Bye Birdie.
Here's her legendary nasal deadpan at work in a sill song called "Instant Man":

The wrong person in the wrong role.
Funny. I bought this album in London way back when.
Got it home and some opera was in the sleeve.
They put in the wrong record! ARGGGGG!
So I finally got to hear it. Thanks for posting.
Its not so bad.! It's what Kay Medford would do with the role.
I liked it better than (oh gosh dare I say it) Bernadette Peters.

When I was a kid, I saw Kay Medford do the Theme from "Shaft" on the Merv Griffin Show and it was the funniest thing I had ever seen.

That was pretty damn funny, FindingNamo, but it was Kaye Ballard, not Kay Medford.
And Kaye Ballard played Fanny's mother in Seth Rudetsky's concert Funny Girl.
There's a Kay Medford Gyspy?! And yet no Dolores Gray Gypsy cast album...
Does anyone know how this project came about? Did Kay Medford fill in for another performer at the last minute (a la Sian Phillips on 1990 A Little Night Music Studio Cast)?
