Anyone going tonight?
BTW: Here are photos of Keke in costume. She looks excellent, especially in the golden dress!

She looks so good!
I wonder if the costumes have been redesigned for Sherri and Nene like they were for Fran.

She looks good! She's giving off a Leslie Caron from The Glass Slipper vibe with that short hair and in those costumes.

She will be wearing a wig, or wigs. Her hair will not be short.

She's looking like a young Angela Bassett with that haircut.

Ah, ok! BTW, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was actually complimenting the inspiration, if the look was indeed inspired by The Glass Slipper.

She looks great! Glad to hear they are not keeping the short hair..it looks good on her, but not with the costume IMO...it makes her look older. Other than that...all is good!

A picture of Keke and Joe. Keke looks beautiful! They did great on her makeup!
EDIT:
A video of her with photos and footage that's working:

She looks gorgeous! Everyone in the company and team have to be very excited and proud of the history they are making up on that stage.
This is amazing in a number of ways!!

She has that lower register that Carly didn't have. I hope her reviews are good!

Keke has ACTING skills AND singing skills...she is a PERFORMER, and always has been. Ella has so many heartfelt, emotionally driven moments that I think Keke will nail. I looked up her name on Twitter and I have heard nothing but good things. Fingers crossed the transformation went well... lol
1. This isn't exactly history. She is only the fourth woman EVER to play it on Broadway.
2. She is good, but I wouldn't say that she is amazing.
3. WHERE IS THE FOOTAGE OF SHERRI SHEPHERD!?

It's still history..she is still the only african american woman to play her. Not sure what you're getting at here.

Like it's something you're ENTITLED to or something? Yuck.

KeKe at age 21 is also the youngest actress to play her. So either way it is history making.
The production and media are exaggerating the significance of it all. It seems like they are playing off of the history made by Norm Lewis in Phantom. The first black Phantom after 27 years is something to recognize. The fact that Keke (whom I love) is supposedly making history here is to suggest that a racial change of any character in any show is a landmark event. I think history will be made once race is not a factor that is considered in casting (not including historical or familial accuracy of course). And Sutton- I am sorry I came off as entitled: I just meant to be enthusiastic! I respect your sass.
And I respect your enthusiasm!

There is a short Instagram video of tonight's curtain call. It looked like a grand night at the Broadway.

EDIT: Here's a photo of her first bows. So sweet!
