As a fellow Oklahoman, I’m proud of her for speaking out as much as she was able to. Broadway appears to be overdue for its own #metoo movement.

This thread is wild. My only contribution:

This could be a show that didn’t actually make it to Bway!!! A lot of productions fall apart in development.

Oh cool, unsolicited advice from fans! I'm sure she thanks you.

What if she's being literal and it was one of the producers of Indecent! Kelli O'Hara comments about a Broadway producer

I do not think she is referring to anyone specifically. She is at a point in her stage career where she can pick and choose. Most people would rather work with other artists that they respect, trust and enjoy being around. That can also be said about any occupation..

I feel like she is referencing a specific producer/show. She could have said "I prioritize projects with people I trust and want to support" but she said she chose between two projects, and made the choice because one was an indecent producer. Though "project this year" does not to me say it's a show that came out this season, just that she would have been involved with it sometime this year had she gone ahead with it. And like people have said, could have been a project that didn't end up going forward as well. I certainly don't know enough to make a guess.

This thread passed the point of idiocy more than 2 pages ago --- when will the Mods have the good sense to put it out of its misery and lock it down?

Listened to the completed podcast on Hollywood Reporter gave a better context and sounding.  She is great as always.

Don't think it would be idiotic if Kelli had announced to all who were listening that she chose to do Kiss Me, Kate instead of [other musical] because a producer of [other musical]  had sexually harassed her or because the director told her that he had sexually assaulted another actress.

That would be pretty big news.

But since it turns out that apparently she was not very serious when she said that the producer had been indecent or the people were not nice, there is not a lot here.

At last week's SAG-AFTRA Conversation, Kelli said that right after she had shared a laugh with Will over a photo of his nine year old, she had to go on stage and sing "I Hate Men," and she felt like going on stage and singing "I don't hate men. Well, there were one or two of these producers...."  She let it hang.

I don't think that she has ever had a serious incident with a producer.

Good point. I can't think of anything she would be right for besides Eliza in My Fair Lady, Marian in Music Man, and Superhero at Second Stage unless it was a straight play.
