"While #MeToo claims have been widespread in Hollywood, few have emerged from Broadway. "I don't have big ones to tell," O'Hara says. "I have a lot of small ones." She continues, "I've made some big decisions in my life not to work with people like that — producers — and to not do things that might have been great artistically or whatever, because I don't want to work with certain people. And that's just my choice. And that's exactly why I'm here today — you asked me why I'm doing this show — because I want to work with nice people, good people. I made a choice, and I'll say this vocally: I chose between a decent producer and an indecent one on the shows of my choice this year. And I made the right decision."'
Who is she talking about? What did she turn down?

Rudin and Hello Dolly maybe
Nothing about her comments were "shady" in any universe. Kelli is a class act, respect her privacy.

I wasn't going to comment on this thread because I have no idea who she's talking about and nothing to add to the conversation until I saw this post. Once someone decides to talk about something in public whether it be in an interview, podcast, or social media then there is NO MORE PRIVACY. How you don't understand that is beyond me.

Where is this from? What podcast? Thanks!!
Its interesting that she states THIS season.
Regardless, Kelli O’Hara is a class act.

Lol. Thanks for the ALL CAPS rule but, nope, she did not name names. So yep, respect her privacy.

So then don't talk about it. But anyway, no one cares what you have to say and we'll still be talking about it. My guess is Rudin and The Music Man.

The only thing private are the names. She has publicly stated that she chose this show, this season and stated the reasons why. That information is no longer private.

She's talking about a situation that involves her personally. Therefore, how much or how little she chooses to publicly disclose about it is totally up to her. We aren't entitled to know the whole story warts and all. That is what should be respected regarding her privacy.
^ Exactly.
So then don't talk about it. But anyway, no one cares what you have to say and we'll still be talking about it.
Hilarious.

This logic is truly hilarious. Once someone discloses SOME information, purposefully refusing to disclose all of it, that person gives up the right to privacy as to ALL the information? That makes absolutely no sense.
I happen to agree that its perfectly natural for people to speculate given the breadcrumbs she left, and I think all celebrities (especially those giving interviews) dont have any reasonable claim to total privacy.
But the idea that Kelli O'Hara can't disclose SOME information without giving up her right not to disclose ALL information is beyond me (and any legal understanding of privacy/disclosure works).
But that doesn't prevent us from speculating on the people involved.

Kelli has decades of experience with dealing with the media. She knew what she was doing here when she made this clearly worded statement.
She wants “us”, the public, to discuss it.

Yeah you don’t say something like that and then not expect people to speculate! There’s nothing wrong with that imo.
It's not necessary to identify by name the person who is claiming to be libeled. Indirectly identifying the person who claims to have been libeled by referring to him or her as the producer of the other show she was considering is identification enough if 25 or 50 or 200 people know the show and the producer that she was talking about.
But just referring to the producer as "indecent" does not rise to defamation. It is far too vague. It would also be easy for the person who had made the statement to dismiss it as a joke referring to the old "casting couch" or to say that it was just a an opinion that he or she had formed based on what he or she had heard about this producer from other people.
SHE brought it up, people are allowed to discuss. Its not like the OP went through her trash and found her old diary or is harassing her for more info.
For a nice change, no one at BWW crossed a line.

People are of course able to speculate as much as they want. Even though she did say it in public, it doesn't mean we have a right to any information. What actors choose to tell us is up to them. Period.

Agreed! I don't see any shade in her comments.

The OP literally asked who she was talking about.
"Who is she talking about? What did she turn down?" That was the original question. Did you not read that?

That’s just speculation. We can all look at the new shows this season and make a guess at which ones might have been offered to her: Oklahoma, Hillary & Clinton, an early conceived gender reversed Beetlejuice ... etc.
The OP literally asked who she was talking about.

Those are speculative questions based on the purposefully veiled information she deliberately chose to reveal. Her privacy and her message are both being WELL respected by demands not being made of her to disclose specifics AND by speculating and discussing the message she wanted to broadcast openly. If you believe Kelli did not intend for people to ask these questions amongst each other, then you must believe Kelli is ridiculously naive and stupid. She wanted to inform the public and the industry while protecting herself legally. She would not have said "producer" or "this season" unless she intended people to speculate on those specific two points.

As some smart people on here said, no one on here was telling her she must disclose the information. We are in every right to speculate as to who we think she is talking about since she talked about it publicly. Please find the post that said SHE must disclose ALL the information now that she gave us some of it. Or did you only see posts saying WE can guess who it is because she told it in a public forum?
