Posted: 2/11/09 at 6:55pmI hope they bump up Laura Marie Duncan, if she's still with the show. I saw her on the DRS tour and her voice was amazing.

Posted: 2/11/09 at 8:46pmI hope tha was a joke. I think Laura Marie Duncan is good from what I've heard, so I'd be happy if she were promoted.

Osnes (who is much more versatile than any association with a GREASE reality show would lead you to believe) is actually a good suggestion.
Erin Davie would probably be my ideal replacement for O'Hara, although it would be Leigh Ann Larkin if she weren't committed to the Kennedy Center production of RAGTIME.
Brynn O'Malley, Kate Baldwin, and Lauren Kennedy (who was absolutely phenomenal in Trevor Nunn's London production of the show) would also be great casting.

Oooo, that's good, somethingwicked...
I'll stick with Osnes, but add Davie, Baldwin and Kennedy to my wish list. The show would be in great hands with ANY of those choices. Duncan too.

Posted: 2/11/09 at 9:34pmDavie would be my top choice and I'd get tickets right away if she were to be cast. Leigh Ann Larkin is a great suggestion, of course.

I think Erin Davie would be pretty good, but I'd really love to see Celia Keenan-Bolger.
I doubt it'd be Laura Osnes, unless she's dropping out of the projects she has coming up (including Anne in A Little Night Music, which I think is a much better role).

I read somewhere that their three final options in original auditions for Nellie were Kelli O' Hara, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Victoria Clark. I would love to see either of those other two ladies fill in, though I believe Victoria Clark is a bit old (though not too old, especially with Pittsinger.)
I saw Duncan when I saw the show, and thought she was phenomenal. She would make an excellent replacement.

Posted: 2/11/09 at 11:59pmI'm a HUGE fan of Victoria Clarrk, but she is far too old for the role. She would have been a fabulous Nellie 20-25 years ago.

Posted: 2/12/09 at 12:21amRandom, but if I calculated right Kelli will be 5 months along by the time she leaves -- that's going to be awfully hard to hide onstage.

scaryclowns2232, the four women at the final callback for Nellie were O'Hara, Clark, Keenan-Bolger, and Erin Dilly.
Of the three that are left, Dilly would be the only one I would think could be a legitimate possibility.
Keenan-Bolger is currently living on the West Coast perusing some other opportunities, while Clark would in no way fit the dynamic of this production (one of the reasons she wasn't cast initially was because it would have involved casting both Emile and the ensemble of nurses older than usual.)
According to someone on ATC, an offer went out today to the replacement they've chosen, so I guess we'll see soon enough.

Posted: 2/12/09 at 1:28amEven though I think Ms. Clark is one of the most talented women who's ever appeared on Broadway, there's no way someone who's nearly 50 (and looks it unfortunately) could pull off an ingenue role like that. I'm shocked that she made it that far in the audition process.

Posted: 2/12/09 at 1:32amGlenn Close played Nellie in the movie remake when she was like 54 years old. But it is a god awful movie.

Posted: 2/12/09 at 12:43pmYou might have been on the right track, joeybiltmore- another post on ATC indicates that the "word on the street" is that Osnes may indeed have booked the role.

Posted: 2/12/09 at 12:54pmWell, A Little Night Music runs in White Plains until March 22. Unless an understudy covers the role for two weeks or Kelli holds out for another two weeks Laura would have to only do part of ALNM, pull out completely, or pass on the role (for now).

It's Osnes...
First performance is on 3/10 and she'll be with it at least through October

Posted: 2/12/09 at 4:17pmIf this is true she is going to look so young next to Pittsinger and Szot.
