After the La Cage matinee today my friend asked Kelsey Grammer when he was switching roles. In response he said (this is paraphrased), "Might not happen anymore. Maybe next year." Does anyone know about this?

He said a little while ago he wasn't going to do it. Probably has a lot to do with that new TV network or whatever the hell it is he's starting.

That's been the case since his TONY nomination. Hopefully Douglas extends his stay.

I wonder if the Weisslers will cast a string of B/C list TV names as Georges once Grammer leaves? Will Friedman and Babani go for that?

Paulo Szot was rumoured to be Georges in the first place before Grammer took the role. I hope he will replace him after his South Pacific run.

Douglas Hodge mentioned wanting to stay longer in his downstage center interview, but there were a few things he listed that might prevent it.

Hodge is British. Equity may not allow him to perform longer than 6 months. It's happened before.

Equity is allowing Alexander Hanson to stay longer than six months, and he wasn't even nominated for a Tony. I'm sure Hodge can stay if he wants to.

Laura Michelle Kelly has been with Mary Poppins since October. Equity seems to be getting very lenient on England/America transfers.
