Maybe he already has a previous engagement already set for the Sunday ...and the show is happy to have him as long as possible.
it was just announced that Grammer will be with the show until March 26 now instead of Feb. 21.

I saw the show last night and it was really enjoyable in my opinion. No, it isn't a perfect show, but it certainly is entertaining and one I would recommend to families. The show is in great shape. Matthew Morrison was in very good voice, and did a really nice job. Kelsey Grammer was excellent and you would never know that it was only his 3rd show back. A lot of great energy from the audience.
Everyone stage doored except Kelsey Grammer, though I met him backstage and he was so kind and friendly. What a nice guy. And everyone else was also very nice and courteous to the fans at the stage door.
Kelsey was on Colbert this week and when asked how long he was in the show, he said "I'm finished actually next Sunday, and then I'm going to come back in mid-March for 2 more weeks."
Since the articles about his return said he was originally scheduled to depart on Feb 21, but extended until March 26, seems that by "next Sunday" he meant the 21st, as opposed to "this" Sunday the 14th.
And if he's coming back in mid-march for 2 more weeks, sounds like that'll maybe be March 15-26.
Interesting that FN's website lists him as being there through March 26, with no mention that I could find of missing a few weeks in the midst of that.

Yes, Finding Neverland is being sneaky again regarding Kelsey's dates. I personally met him a few weeks ago and when I mentioned his extension he told me that he would be leaving February 21st as planned (because he has a new series to film in LA) but that he'd be back for those two weeks in March. Interesting spin again from their PR department by making it seem like he'll be in it the whole time when really he's leaving for three weeks and will only be back for two.
Looks like he's headed to London with Alfie.

I bet he'll open the London production and do it for a short engagement, maybe 3 months or so. Which, really, no matter the length of the contract he signs, is about all the time he's ever interested in performing in any given show.
How big of a star is Kelsey in England?

I have to say I think a lot of you guys are a little harsh towards Kelsey. Everyone always says that he has no interest in being in shows past a little while. Why? Based off of the fact that in ONE show he took a few months off and then eventually CAME BACK? I just think it's really ridiculous. If you haven't realized with his several extensions of his return engagement, and now the fact that he is signing on to do this show in London, he obviously has interest in this show and enjoys doing it. It's unfair to judge him only on the basis that he took a few months off from one show. He was in La Cage for a whole year, and has no reputation of missing repeated shows. I hate to sound like his defender, but I have seen this come up on here a lot and I just think it's silly.
And call me Jorge, no I do not believe he is that big of a star in London but he might sell some tickets from people that know him there.

He missed a lot of performances in LA CAGE. And his performances were inconsistent when he was there. At the time I assumed it was due to the turmoil of his personal life, but it seems that it has more to do with him looking for his next television job or going on vacation with his pretty young wife.

I was unaware of that. Anyways that may have been like you said due to what was going on at the time. I still think it's unfair to completely judge him as a whole.

Anyways, he's extended another week in the show. He did in fact return for a few good months, which was at least good for those who wanted to see him and missed him the first go-round.
He's also a Michele Bachman supporting, card carrying Republican, which is why I've never cared for him.
actually, Grammer had a very good attendance record while doing LA CAGE.
