She started in late September and has a six month contract. Therefore, she should be there until late March.

I still dont understand why she called this show "dance heavy" in every interview thats what she talks about. There is barely any dancing in the production especially for her character and in hairspray there was way more dancing for her to do I dont know why shes complaining?

I didn't like her very much and thought Savannah Wise was much better.

Andy, maybe it's like when Gina Gershon said they cut the Shriner's Ballet because it was too gang rapey. Maybe she has lost her gift. I think she has. Poor thing.

I've seen all the Sherries so far except Emily. I think Kerry is the best so far. She's got the best acting skills and comedic timing. I love her voice and think she's made the role her own.
She's a really sweet person, too.

i think Kerry has improved dramatically since she started. she is not my favorite sherrie, but I do enjoy her portrayal. her dancing, however, leaves much to be desired...IMO.

I rate the Sherries:
1. Savannah Wise
2. Emily Padgett
3. Erika Hunter
4. Kerry Butler
Kerry has improved, but the girl just can't dance. Her comedic timing is great though. Savannah is still the best though and I have seen the show MANY times with all four ladies.

Uh, no. Spanger was the worst. I can barely even listen to the cast recording. Bless her heart, I adore the woman but she was just all wrong for the role.

^ i wholeheartedly agree....
1. Savannah Wise
2. Emily Padgett
3. Ericka Hunter
4. Kerry Butler
5. Amy Spanger (and that's only because I've seen all 5 BWay Sherries, I'm sure as new ones come in Spanger will move down the list.)

Crazy how the opinions of best Sherrie vary so much.
I just saw Emily Padgett tonight, and she was #1 with a bullet. Haven't seen Kerry Butler though. Emily, then Savannah, then Amy IMO. Haven't seen Hunter either.
Since Ragtime is (with all due respect) struggling, maybe Wise could come back if/when it closes.

Well, for me Padgett is a very close second. Girl is amazing.

yes, also a close second. definitely days where she is right up there with, if not slightly higher on the list than Savannah.

jonart: Kerry is usually out Sundays, however she will be in on December 13 (if I'm remembering correctly what Emily said) since Emily was on last night and is on tonight.

Having seen Amy Spanger and Savannah Wise in the role of Sherrie, I would rank Amy as #1, with Savannah second.
Basically, I would categorize Savannah's performance as "Amy lite." I hope to see Kerry in the part in January.
Not sure what all the dislike on here is here for Amy. She sang and danced very well in my opinion. A real pro. Glad to see her limited run.

Amy ruined the cast recording. I sing over her everytime I listen. Even I sound better than her. Nasal and screechy.
I would like to see Emily, but I can never stay long enough on Sunday to see her.

Emily was a pleasant surprise, she's definitly talented.
But there is something special about Kerry's acting and timing, I just enjoyed her performance more, dancing skills be damned.

To me it was that Kerry just seemed so YOUNG, it got kind of awkward in Act 2. I do love her (and that voice!), but after seeing Emily last night I may prefer her to Kerry a bit.
Annnnnd I just realized I've seen all five Broadway Sherrie's - honestly there aren't any I'd say were bad, but I'd probably group Spanger and Emily at the top, with Kerry and Savannah close after and Ericka last.
