Of course you can, darling!
Just like I love both Chita and Rita.
Ok...I like Rita more...she has all four biggies...and Lord knows it's awards that count!

As I didn't see the revival, and only saw the OBC on the infamous video, I only know Benanti's vocal abilities in ITW.
And what I hear is wonderful. She has an absolutely gorgeous voice.
Kim Crosby was absolutely sublime in the part.
I am of the opinion that the orignal cast was perfection.
Literally.
Everyone fits in perfectly. And it makes an absolutely astounding puzzle.
So I can't make a fair pick, but since OBC ITW was perfection, and Revival ITW was... not.. Kim wins.
I love Kim's face on the last note of On the Steps...
So wonderful.

I, personally, loved the revival. (see icon)
I'm going with Laura. Her voice was more pleasing to me. Kim is a wonderful performer as well.

Laura Benanti was the best thing about the revival. That I don't think anybody denys.
Kim vs Laura?
I think Laura had the much better singing voice BUT BUT BUT Kim is a hell of a better actress. And thus she pips Laura out.

"The infamous video": Did I miss out on any controversial juicy details? I thought the video was famous not infamous.
I think the reason some people don't realize Kim Crosby is such a great actress is because she contributed to the greatness of the original cast but was not the only contributor unlike Benanti who in my opinion was probably the one good thing about the revival, still can't deal with Williams on Peters role.
Anyways, whatever happened to Danielle Ferland? She did Sunday in the park and Into the Woods and that's it?

Posted: 9/24/05 at 4:32amIt has got to be Kim. I agree, she is one Broadway's most underrated stars, she reminsd me of Julie Andrews, her voice is so clear and pure. I wish they had done a recording of her in Follies, I heard she was amazing.

In response to the Benanti/Crosby thing. I prefer Kim Crosby just because I actually got to watch her performance whereas I have only heard Benanti on the cd. And although she sings the score beautifully, there's no passion in her voice when she sings. Kim was so INTO her role and totally made it her own. Add one more point for Kim Crosby!
