All joking aside, what roles would she be good in?

I could see her as Mama Morton in Chicago.
Fat Pig springs to mind.

@mallardo- WIN!
@chickfila- Chicago is the likeliest choice, if she realistically wants to be in a show. I agree with mama morton.

Read between the lines:
Kirstie: I know they are doing a revival of "Annie" and I want a shot at Miss Hannigan.
In TV Guide she said she wanted to do Mame:
TV Guide Magazine: You've been approached to be on the show every season since its inception. Why now?
Alley: I really want to do a Broadway musical. I'd like to do Mame. I thought this would be a good first audition.

I have always been a fan and have found the tabloid focus on her weight to be completely overblown.
MAME? Oh, why the hell not?

The Rhino in Spider-Man, Turn off the Dark
The Elephant in The Lion King
The Bus in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Or if she's in the mood to go legitimate, I bet she would be AMAZING as the house in August: Osage County.
Really with the fat jokes? Ugh.
Anyway, in terms of things that are realistic, I could see her playing Mama Morton in Chicago.
Mama Morton is definitely the obvious choice.
I do agree, though, she probably has her sights set on Miss Hannigan.
Only if she ATE the frickin Orphans!
Yay! More fat jokes! Lets hope Barbara Cook comes back to Broadway so we can really dig in!
Maybe Rosie in Mamma Mia???

If Kirstie was serious about Broadway she should talk a producer into putting up the money for her to do a revival of "Dirty Blond". It has everything she needs: a star role, a score she could warble through, some comic bits. As far as producers are concerned, it's a small show that can cost almost nothing to run and it's been more than 10 years since it was first produced. It has touring possibilities if Kirstie wanted to take it on the road.
Let's start a Facebook campaign: Kirstie Alley in "Dirty Blond"
