So I have just discoved this wonderful score. I've own it for quite a while but had not listened to it till recently. Do you think a Revival could be in the future for this show or a movie adaption? I was think I could see Karen Olivo as the Spider Woman when she is a bit older?
EDIT: Is there anyway to get the script?
I'd love to see what Doyle could do with it. Not with the actor/musician concept, but definitely something smaller and more intimate than the original production.
I never saw the show. Was it a big production show?
Certainly was. It was very flashy.
They did it at Signature VA within the past few years (I really don't remember when) and I wouldn't have considered that production flashy at all. It was pretty intimate, then again, it's an incredibly intimate space. I really liked Natacia Diaz, Hunter Foster, and Will Chase in the show.

You can purchase the script from Samuel French. I think their scripts normally run between $7-$10.
I also saw it at the Signature with Natascia, Hunter, and Will. I loved the production design (http://www.sig-online.org/kissofthespiderwoman.htm) which you can view two concept designs of the stage at the bottom of that link. There was definitely a minimalistic design which worked well for the size of the house.
And as much as I love Karen, I think Natascia fit the part better. The director's concept for Aurora was that she was like Molina, but in drag, which Natascia and Hunter visualized very well.
It's sort of like she would have to play a drag queen.
As much as I admire Karen Olivo, I think a "star" should be the Spider Woman. The show extended 3 times because Vanessa Williams was in the show, so the show itself doesn't sell tickets unless a big star is cast.
I feel like the show would be a hit with Catherine Zeta Jones as the title role. And I hope Doyle never ruins that gem that this show is.
I could see Zeta Jones doing really well in this show.
