Kiss of the Spider Woman recording quality

On my CR of Kiss of the Spider Woman, the volume is so low that I can barely hear it with the volume turned to max. I tried burning it to a CD, and the same think happened on a stereo. Do I just have a defective CD, or is this true with all copies?

Is it the Vanessa Williams recording? If so, mine is the same way. Probably just recorded that way. There are a few like that. The last Oliver recording from the early 90's is like that too.

I have both and I don't have a volume problem. Do you listen to a lot of newer cast recordings, because the "sound" is totally different than the early '90's...

I do, but this is a major problem. I was doing a presentation in school, and I was trying to play the title song. I turned the volume all the way up on the teacher's CD player (which would normally be deafening), and people were still straining to hear it.

Mine is like that too. Also all three English recordings of Beauty and the Beast. They're just all really quiet for some reason.

Titanic is also very quiet.

Yes, Titanic is certainly one of the "newer" recordings that has such a low volume.

Oh good, I once asked that about Kiss of the Spiderwoman and no one else had that problem. I am not alone!
