It was announced by Max Preeo on the CASTREC group. Max is the originator and publisher of the 9(Sadly now defunct) SHOW MUSIC magazine. He is plugged in with all the labels and keeps the CASTREC group members advised about upcoming releases. There may have been a press relese from Time Life, but I did not see it. I saw all the bickering in that GypsyCastAlbumWatch thread and just gave up on it. No one seemed to really care about it anyhow.

It IS happening, so just relax and enjoy that delicious anticpation.

Like you I am waiting for my EVENING PRIMROSE disc but being in Canada it often takes longer to get discs here.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

OK, I can stop my whining now. I finally got my copy in today! So excited!!!

BTW, I was never able to find the CASTREC group. I heard about it a long time ago, never found it, and gave up. I never knew it was still around.

CASTREC is a subscriber newsgroup...been around since at least 1996. I'll PM you the link and instructions for subscribing.

My CD arrived Monday in the mail Superb sound. What was the source for this? Pre-recordings?

Also, I understand that RCA did a limited edition LP pressing. Does anyone have the catalogue number for that?

RCA did the physical pressing for the LP - but it wasn't an RCA release or any "official" release - Mr. Sondheim had them pressed for his personal use - just a couple hundred of them. Hence, no catalog number.

Mine's here! And it had to travel over the Atlantic as well! I'm super happy!

I was a little late on this one, but mine came today! I'm so very happy!
I adore it. And the cover is goregous.

"As we all should probably have learned by now, to be a Stephen Sondheim fan is to have one's heart broken at regular intervals" - Frank Rich

Dearest, how can this be so? You were dead, you know. - Candide

Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]

All cover kudos to my designer - Doug Haverty. He's quite brilliant.
