I've seen a lot of people on here trying to figure out if LADY DAY was ever going to offer rush tickets. I've been wondering the same thing for a while now, and since I was walking past the box office last night, I thought I'd stop to ask ONE MORE TIME if they had a better idea of when rush tickets were to become available. And wouldn't you know it - they're apparently going to offer rush tickets THIS WEEKEND for tonight's performance, both performances tomorrow, AND Sunday's matinee. Audra, here I come!
Get there early. I have rushed the show 3 times now. All 3 times they only had 10 rush tickets. It may be different because it is a holiday weekend, just a heads up.
People are leaving the city in droves for the three-day weekend. That might work in your favor, but there's no way of knowing for sure.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
I'm so surprised there are discounts for this show. I feel like we owe them for this theatrical experience!
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
