LEAP OF FAITH -- A Question

Alright.
Would it be possible for LEAP to close before the TONYS? My gut says "No." ... As, it would make more sense to stay open as it's got a nomination for 'Best Musical'. It closing before 6/10 would mean its moot, right?
Thoughts?
#2LEAP OF FAITH -- A Question
Posted: 5/5/12 at 4:36amI suppose it's possible, though I'd be surprised. I can't imagine that the producers expect to win the Tony with no other nominations for the show, but it will have a song spot on the TV broadcast to possibly stir up some business. Isn't that what a lot of shows hope for...a nomination with a slot on the broadcast?

They'd have to be delusional to think they could win. They likely still haven't picked their jaws off the floor from the announcement of the nomination.
The key here is if they can raise the additional money they need in order to keep it running.

#3LEAP OF FAITH -- A Question
Posted: 5/5/12 at 12:52pmLEAP will get a spot on the Tony awards with or without a show that is still running. In fact, lately the Tony awards have let shows that aren't even nominated do segments. I'm sure that someone can chime in here but I'm certain that there are past examples of closed shows doing Tony perfs.

Posted: 5/5/12 at 1:11pmHonestly I saw Leap of Faith on Thursday night and loved it...they basically need to sell it as a musical adaptation of a Lifetime/Hallmark movie, because that is basically what it is..a guilty pleasure...word of mouth is actually quite strong from what i hear too, though I know it will likely close in the coming weeks because there is no way its word of mouth will be able to save the show..it will indeed me a "miracle" This show will go down in the history books, likely for being a show that proves just because a theater is open at the very end of the season, it doesn't mean you should rush a show being prepped for a fall opening, just for a chance to get some Tony love

Roadmixer -- I don't think there was a question of whether or not they could/would perform. (Regardless of whether it is open.) But there is an large expense that goes along with that as well.
They have to decide if investing more money to extend and perform will actually turn things around financially. (Quite the gamble.) However, it could just be throwing good money after bad.

The only thing we can all do however is speculate because we don't know what sort of money the producers have available to stay the course and we don't know what their true gameplan is. I like to believe that it doesn't involve blowing money without any concern for outcome.

"This show needs to close ASAP and be put out of it's misery."
Tell that to the ticket buyers on line at TKTS, LuPone, and save them some money.
