Pippin- although I adore the show as a hole I find Act 2 to be less entertaining than Act 1. The songs and musical numbers are better and the ordinary life segment can get really draggy in act 2.

I'm a huge fan of SJP and I'm attending The Commons of Pensacola. I'm going to see the play specifically because of her starring in it. My question is since its not playing on Broadway, does Sarah come out the stage door and sign autographs and possibly take a picture?

Looked on Playbill.com and it indicates that Prince of Broadway will be opening this fall 2013. Any information as to whether this coming or not??

Count me in the I love Side Show group. In my opinion it was definitely one of the best original new musicals of the 1990's. I personally adore the score for its mix of gorgeous ballads and catchy old fashioned show tunes. I can't think of another new musical since that had such a strong "traditional score". As for the story and theme I really don't understand what's so "uncomfortable" or "disturbing" about it? Granted, it's not Mamma Mia, but there have been many successful musicals on Broad...

To all the know it alls on this board, I'm very much aware that shows sell tickets in blocks of time periods. My point was that they listed it as if it was closing on Jan 5.

Sorry, I meant Jan 5. If u notice on my thread title it says Jan5. I think Jan 5 is still way too early for them to close. Afterall it's selling out every week and won several major Tonys including best musical revival. I was expecting this to run at least until Jan 5, 2014.

According to Time Out NY magazine it states that Pippin runs through Sept. 5. I was under the impression that since its doing well both financially and award wise it would enjoy a healthy run. It seems that a Sept 5 closing would be extreemely premature for such a successful production.

Okay thanks. I was fine with the suit in 2010. But when I read the black tie only on the ticket it kinda threw me off.

I will be attending the TONYS on Sunday and on my ticket it states Black Tie Only.The last time I attended in 2010, I wore a suit. I was planning on wearing a suit again. Will that be acceptable or must I wear a tuxedo? Any clarification on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Les Mis. I can't believe no one has mentioned Les Mis. To me, Les Mis is the closest a musical gets to a masterpiece. An amazing score, an epic story that has a little bit of everything and many different themes and messages.
