Wow, if that nasty review from Time Out New York merited two stars, what does a one-star review read like?

I believe this thread is for real reviews? Not blogs?

bk: I gather when a person sees a show, he is apt to reveal his opinions on said show..hence a review. Whether it's a blog review, a personal review or a theatre critic review...it's still a review. Just saying...from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

bk, You're right. This is a list of critic reviews.

But THESE threads are specifically for official reviews, the other existing threads are for our opinions.
(It's an understandable mistake, however.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I'd say that " Ultimately, it’s hard to shake the feeling that despite all its singing to the Lord, Leap of Faith was never meant to be a musical" is hardly mixed.

EW's and Hollywood Reporter's really aren't that bad, considering.

Yikes. I don't think Brantley has slammed a major show this harshly since THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

Lord, I loved this phrase:
Jessica Phillips, who looks and acts as if she has just been dry-cleaned

THE QUOTE OF MY LIFE!!!!!
"Yet here Mr. Esparza seems to keep a chilly distance from his character, and you realize the degree to which self-consciousness has always been a part of his performances. " - Ben Brantley
He is my new favorite person ever.
