don't give up on the cast recording just yet, i was told that since they're now closed and all they're trying even harder to get it made. it's still not certain but at least there's still hope.
it hurt so much when i was leaving the theatre last monday and hearing so many people asking the merch girls 'i'd like to buy the cast recording!' one of them even said 'if i had a nickel for every time someone asked for a copy i'd be so rich'
*sigh*

Thank you Cathy and dancingthrulife04 for your responses. It was nice to hear such positive comments back! :)

I love this show beyond words (though I seemed to have a lot of them! haha).

Thanks for sharing your experiences dtl04! They're the nicest people, aren't they?!?!

Oh and thanks for the compliment on my username! I must give credit where credit is due...it is Julie's creation! I started a fansite for her and we were brainstorming names and she came up with "Danao Not Later." I thought it was brilliant! corny, but brilliant! So it stuck!

Since I am talking about it already, I'll tell you all about the site...it is still in its very early stages (it's really basic at the moment) and I have been super busy being in another country and all, but it is getting there. If you want to check it out the adress is...http://juliedanao-salkin.tripod.com Come back from time to time because it will only get better...I promise!

If anyone has any pictures of her from the stage door of Lennon or from anything else she has done, Rent tour and on broadway, Miss Saigon tour, Aida tour, etc. I'd love to put them up on the website. Just send them to me at danaonotlater@gmail.com Include your name and I'll definitely credit you on the site!

Thanks!

Julie is amazing! Show some Julie love!

i love julie!!

i love her yoko costumes. i'd die to get her yoko sunglasses, white jacket, BIG white hat, and white sweater she wears in "grow old with me". it looks so comfy!

hey does anyone know what brand jeans they wore in the show? i know all the girls wore the same kind, and i feel like it's a brand that i've heard of because the stitching on the back pockets seemed familiar to me.

By the way, does anyone know where I can get the Lennon T that's blue and has the marquee logo on it? I can't seem to find it anywhere and by the time I saw the show, they were out of the shirt I wanted. I don't know how much I'll pay for it, but I'd love to know where I can get that shirt!

is that the one that they're selling in the stores too? i think i saw that shirt at theatre circle. right across the street from the broadhurst. right near john's pizza.

anyone got any answers to my costume question?
(hey does anyone know what brand jeans they wore in the show? i know all the girls wore the same kind, and i feel like it's a brand that i've heard of because the stitching on the back pockets seemed familiar to me.)

i looked at the playbill and it only lists personal costume designers and the brand of lennon boots that they all wore. i'm very tempted to buy a pair...

but i really want those jeans. anyone know anything about them?

Here's my review of last night, it was worth every minute on the street to sit front row. Pictures are here: http://photos.yahoo.com/langfrosh04

We all screamed as Will started to sing, and when the cast started to take the rest of the stage, we screamed even more, and when the lights went up, add some more. And I don't think it was JUST the front row. I think there was actually energy in the house. It was INCREDIBLE.

There was so much screaming after every song. Julia was crying after New York City. Chad really belted and put his heart into Mother, it was even stronger than usual. Look At Me was beautiful, as usual.

We all got the points during the Queen of England scene, more-so than usual. And when Terrence finished his lines, he KISSED WILL ON THE LIPS and would NOT let go. We were all SHOCKED. We screamed and clapped for that of course.

Julie gave us all crazy-eyes during Money and Twist and Shout. Chuck got lots of applause for his last time imitating Ed Sullivan. And for Instant Kharma, which was just amazing.

India, India was great, at the end of the Mandy's monologue where Terrence and Julia are doing hands behind her, Terrence was doing the WEIRDEST hand movements. Heh.

Some tears started during Real Love and Mind Games. It was beautiful. Julie and Chad put their heart and soul into it. And Chad was fantastic and got lots of applause when he did the "Yoko Ono-thing, you know..."

The Ballad of John and Yoko, one of my favorite songs and the most fun. They all seemed like they were having the times of their lives.

Mandy kicked some ass during How Do You Sleep? and Michael kicked equally as much as during God. Michael got so much applause after that!

We were all practically jumping out of our seats when the "bed-ins" started. Then when the drummer started the beat, we were so excited. We started clapping immediately. There was lots of applause during Terrence's, "shoving it down the throats with a gun!" There was so much energy and I thought we were going to jump up and start dancing, which we probably should've. The house errupted when the lights went down and the first ended.

Power to the People was great, lots of energy from the cast, us, and the house. Then came the song we were all dreading...

Woman is the n* of the World. The beginning started off fine. Then Nicole started lowering the notes on a whole lot of the song, she sounded like she was literally towards the end, and the ending was just not good.

Attica State was fabulous as usual. Terrence was HYSTERICAL as David Frost. Then when he started as Mike Douglas, he pointed at me in the audience and started talking to me again and apparently called me naughty.

Now, getting dirty looks from Chad is the greatest. When Will brings out the applause box, and we all applause, we went nuts. Then when Terrence announced Jerry Rubin, all of us in the front row went NUTS, and Chad shot us a dirty look and pointed and said, "NO!" and then when Nicole came out, we started clapping a lot again, and Chad said, "Okay, fine, now you can..." it was funny. Nicole's Jerry Rubin is not as funny, I'm sorry.

Will Chase totally kicked the **** out of Gimme Some Truth. Lots of applause and yelling after that. Julia kicked herself in the head practically when she was a cheerleader doing the Nixon cheer. I thought her leg was hurt? Heh. I'm just glad it was feeling better!

There was bawling again during I'm Losing You/I'm Moving On. Chad and Julie are probably my favorite John/Yoko pair. I love their voices together. Stepping Out was fabulous. Nothing really to comment on much. Terrence was a sexy b*tch as usual during I Don't Wanna Lose You.

Nicole's best performance of the night was as Elton John during Whatever Gets You Through the Night. She was ADORABLE! Will was fantastic as well too, as well as in Woman, I love when he gets down on his knee.

I think Julia was riffing it up during Beautiful Boy, and it was just as beautiful as ever.

We were all so excited for Watching the Wheels Turn, being in the front row and all. At the end, when they're all facing upstage, and Will turns back around to finish the song, he turned around this time, and we all just totally went nuts, as did the rest of the house. So he fully turns around and starts smiling and looking around and then gets Chad, Michael, and Terrence to turn around too and they all watch everyone cheering. Then Will started to try to quiet us down, they turned back around and Will turned around again and finished the song. We went NUTS afterwards.

(Just Like) Staring Over was the last time there was a dry eye in the house. It was great. Then the cast covered the piano, the lights went down, and Chuck showed up DL.

I was now finally starting to let myself cry. Tears came streaming down my face. Chuck had tears in his eyes. Then we focused our attention SR for Grow Old with Me. Julie was crying. She sounded amazing. Everyone was bawling. I could see (and hear in his mic) that was Chad was crying. I lost it the most during her monologue. She got applause after it, FINALLY.

The monologues leading up to Imagine, it felt a bit rushed, but I think it was because there's never time left for applause after Julie's song. I was full-out crying now. Will started singing and it was all downhill from there. When they lined up, Terrence and Will made eye contact with me and saw me crying and smiled. When they brought the screen down, with John on it, the house went wild. It was amazing. I can't even explain everything that I was feeling, besides wet because there were tears streaming down my face.

We all jumped to our feet, the rest of the house followed, as soon as they reprised Instant Kharma, and we were clapping and crying, and getting lots of smiles from the cast. Then there was more defeaning screaming when they started to bow. I had my camera out, ready to take pictures. I just kept snapping pictures. We threw roses at them, they were all over the stage. Terrence half took off his jacket, as usual, and I handed him a rose, and he put it in his mouth and walked US. Darin, Mark, and Rona came out for the reprise of Give Peace a Chance and took bows. Then we saw Don [Scardino] in the wings and he came out and took a bow too. Then the band started playing the walk out music and everyone just stayed onstage and danced around. Don ran down into the audience and brought Yoko up and she danced, and everyone applauded. I took LOTS of pictures. Darin took one of the guitars from the band and started jamming! He's fab.

It was AMAZING!

thanks a lot!

i loved watching the wheels so much. it was so amazing. the more times i saw the show, the bigger the applause got for that song. it's beautiful.

i'm so glad this show ended on somewhat of a happy note.

i must say i feel like it's not over for them. don't know what i mean exactly. but it's not over.

Awesome review, Alli!

And Chad was fantastic and got lots of applause when he did the "Yoko Ono-thing, you know..."

He sounds so funny when he does that.

Attica State was fabulous as usual. Terrence was HYSTERICAL as David Frost. Then when he started as Mike Douglas, he pointed at me in the audience and started talking to me again and apparently called me naughty.

Terrencewas hysterical during this whole part the last time I saw the show. And then when Marcy/Jerry Rubin slapped him a high five, he just flung himself out of the chair. Too funny.

Nicole's best performance of the night was as Elton John during Whatever Gets You Through the Night. She was ADORABLE!

I agree with you here. The day I saw her, I thought this was her best part. She's just so funny.

i heard that. that's so funny.

two saturday matinees ago when i saw the david frost part, terry flung himself out of the chair and marcy (as jerry rubin) spanked him.

i laughed so hard. it wasn't that funny for the people that didn't know that that didn't normally happen. but it was so funny.

I haven't seen any of the cast members sites with Lennon clips on them. Mandy's has some from DotV, but that's about it.

And am I the only one who can't get on to Marcy's site?

i don't know why it's so confusing to me. but i don't understand the grosses.

lennon closed this week and i thought that the average attendence would be higher?

i mean 50.6% doesn't seem that great....and i thought it was sold out for the last few shows.

#398re: LENNON Plea

I also thought it would be higher than 50%. It wasn't sold out the last week, except maybe closing night, but the audience did seem a lot larger than in previous weeks (and I was there every day last week). I really thought it would be at least high 60's, I wanted them to go out with a bang. Oh well, its not like it wouldve helped them stay open longer anyway re: LENNON Plea

Ok, I've gone to the Bwy NY stores (Marquis, Shubert Alley & the one across from Lennon) and none of these stores has the Lennon shirt with the Lennon face logo!!! Where can I get this shirt? I NEED THIS SHIRT!!!
