I believe there is a screening of the film scheduled for the first week in December?
Screening listings for New York, London, Bay Area, and Los Angeles:

I just looked at the screenings for Bay Area..do you have to be a professional guild member?
The film has already quietly begun screening with the first major guild screening scheduled for Friday. Yes, these screenings are specifically for members of AMPAS, WGA, DGA etc.
How long till people start complaining about Tveit being left out?

Is Tveit truly being left out or is it just more of a "duh of course he would be considered featured and not leading so no reason to list him" type of thing. I know at least with the Oscars there are no set rules for who is leading and who is featured, as opposed to the Tonys where there is at least some set guideline, which can then be petitioned against. Hence all the "For Your Consideration" ads come nomination time.
Well, even if they don't mention her in the trailer, Samantha Barks was at least showcased while they continuously ignore Tviet. I think they are trying to make Barks their Jennifer Hudson.
He's not being actively campaigned for awards recognition. Obviously, the voting members of the Academy can do whatever they want; as you say they don't have to follow the 'for your consideration' ads when making their selections, but being promoted in FYC ads by the studio is actually usually something that is negotiated by the actor in his contract. Tveit likely wouldn't have that clout as a film actor yet, and the studio probably feels that Crowe and Cohen are more likely potential nominees.
That fact that Seyfried and Bonham Carter are being mentioned int the FYC ads is likely do to the contract negotiation thing I mention above. It would be highly unlikely either would be nominated, but they have good agents.

Thanks, MB. I had never thought about the "For Your Consideration" ads being a contractual thing, but that actually makes a lot of sense.

From Deadline Hollywood --

>On Saturday, Universal’s Les Miz plan swings into action with an unprecedented six screenings — all featuring either in-person introductions or post-Q&A sessions with director Tom Hooper and “cast members”. The screening program will not let up until the film’s Christmas Day opening, which comes in the middle of the voting period. Universal is determined to get this film seen on the big screen by as many voters as possible despite the time crunch. The director only just locked Sunday night at 10 PM, according to an internal memo that carried instructions for delivery of the DCP materials for the digital projection. It’s a very precise, carefully orchestrated operation, and as the memo says “failure is not an option”. That’s certainly true in an awards race as tight as this one and particularly for a film as anticipated as this one.<<<
These blitzkrieg screenings in Hollywood are preceded by 2 screenings in NYC ( Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center) on Friday.

So I made a reservation for one of the screenins in LA using that link, listing myself under the OTHER Guild category.
Does anyone have any info on if they are checking memberships cards and require proof, or if we make a reservation, do they just let us in?
They will ask for verification of your union card. Members of AMPAS tend to get top priority with members of SAG usually admitted only if space permits.
The only arguable surprises here are Crowe as supporting (although that makes sense to me and it actually could mean a nomination if he's good) and Tveit being left out (but in spite of McGuire's tony win, I would doubt anyone would be likely to score an oscar nomination for Enjolras).
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION ADS; sorry they're so big!

You can scratch Best Visual Effects. The film did not make the short list:
The Amazing Spider-Man
Cloud Atlas
The Dark Knight Rises (probable nominee)
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (probable nominee & winner)
John Carter
Life of Pi (probable nominee)
Marvel’s The Avengers
Prometheus
Skyfall
Snow White and the Huntsman
Has Hathaway been placed in supt?
I would bet she is considered Lead.
Not the part, the Actress.

They are checking ALL guild cards for the screening. I saw some girl said she forgot her card and they asked her to pull up her member info on her phone or else they won't let her in.

The OP didn't list Aaron Tveit but I clearly saw his name on one of the "for your consideration" advertisements? Does he play the role that Michael Maguire played in the original broadway production, or is that Eddie Redmayne? I think this movie opens on christmas eve where I live and I am definitely going to see it the day it opens!!! (:

I didn't list Aaron Tveit for supporting because according to http://universalpicturesawards.com/#/lesmis (where I got all of the information) he is not listed.
