Do they say it will be playing the Palace?

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

According to ibdb.com, playbill.com, and broadway.com, there are no offical news of anyone cast in Lestat. But I dont' know how much I trust ibdb.com, because they have the date of when Matty Morrison is leaving wrong.

Given that this website compiles every 'official' web story regarding theater pretty much known to man, wouldn't it make sense to guess that if nothing turns up here that there hasn't been an official announcement yet?

The cast won't be official until after the out of town tryout is over. You know how often actors are replaced between the leap to Broadway...

Hugh has confirmed with me that he will be performing the role of Lestat. Rehearsals for Lestat begin at the end of October.

Thanks broadwaybaby! I'm not a big fan of vampires, but I will probably see the show just for Hugh Panaro...

I am thrilled about this production...Vampire musicals haven't been very succesful in recent years, but I firmly believe that Anne Rice's novels' are pretty "vampire cliche" free! With her writings it's would be easier to take a totally different angle on vampires. Rice has an amazing ability to make you feel sorry for those doing aweful things; in turn this will make the leading characters more vulnerable to the audience making the audience/actor relationship and connection a greater possibility. She has the reader feeling for the "vampire" rather than those you should morally feel sorry for. This series of books is truely something awesome, and I can't wait to see what Elton John has done with it.....We'll see, I'm excited!

Later,

Yep. as someone said. We wont really know the offical cast until out of town.

Sweet Charity anyone? Natascia Diaz and Solange Sandy being replaced by Janine LaManna and kyra DaCosta was one of craziest replacements out of town this past season. No one saw that coming. But Janine and Kyra are great!

Well, there are other shows that could go into the Palace after ASU, rather than LeStat, cpd. Just b/c ASU is closing doesn't mean that LeStat automatically gets it. After all, it doesn't open til mid-April.

I don't understand why there are so mandy vampire musicals. Why aren't there creature from the black lagoon musicals or killer doll musicals?

CPD, this posting of stuff before press releases is getting kind of ridiculous; I heard something last night, but am I going to post it? No. I mean, you know people aren't going to believe you, plus, if the press release hasn't come yet, then everyone isn't supposed to know.

heh. My friend said something like that last night. She was reading about Lestat, and was like "aren't there *enough* vampire shows? And I mean, they all do badly." But Elton John is writing this score, so I'm psyched.

how do you know for sure asu is closing?

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Gah! I cant wait till April. Hugh Panaro is da BEST!!!!!!
AHHHHH! I'm seeing Phantom for the 4th time with Hugh as Phantom this Wednesday, the 24th of august! AHHHHHHHHH!

Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat... (The Highwayman. Sung by: Loreena McKennitt)

cuz vampires are more romanticized than the creature from the black lagoon and killer dolls.
