Has anyone made it down to Atlanta for LIKE FATHER? It's the new musical by Jacob Ryan Smith and Caroline Pernick at the Alliance's Hertz Stage, directed by Tinashe Kajese-Bolden, running through Nov 15. The premise is wild: a teenager whose father is arrested as a serial killer moves in with her estranged mother, and then a true-crime podcast starts digging into the family's past. Folk-pop score.

It won the Open Jar Musical Shark Tank and was an O'Neill semi-finalist, and there was an EP with James Monroe Iglehart and Ramin Karimloo. Is this one headed for New York?
And can a musical about true-crime obsession avoid becoming the thing it's critiquing?
