Did anyone else see the photo op on the tour cast? I thought they'd get some familiar names beyond McGovern (whose new hair is both hilarious and awful)... Does anyone know any of these girls?

All of the girls are very talented. And Little Women isn't a show that needs to tour with names to sell. It's a familiar enough piece on its own...

I'm sure they're talented, but I'm asking talented in what? Have you seen them in anything, Craig? I'm curious about their backgrounds.

Your confidence about the tour is overwhelming considering the show's failure on Broadway.

Kate Fisher is very talented. She has done MY FAIR LADY and LES MIZ. Her voice is beautiful; better than Sutton's, IMO.

McG's new hair is sooooo bad.

Yes, they not only cover up bad hair, but really add to the time period.

I agree, it is very funny to see a bunch of faces that you don't recognize filling these roles.

Kinda like seeing a regional production of a show that recently closed on B'way.

Anyway- I wish them the BEST and hope the tour is a success. Some Things Are Meant to Be... (sigh)

Ruprecht-

It's not confidence or lack of in the show. It's just one of those shows that I personally believe wouldn't benefit from "star" casting.

Gwen Hollander has done several workshops and readings, is part of an improv group and has performed in concerts around the city. Many of the other girls are experienced "workshoppers" and are getting their break. Couldn't be happier for them.

And I've seen a few of them in various things but obviously not in Little Women. So I'm not exactly "assuming." But I wish them all the best of luck...

They Amy and Beth look older than the bway girls..but I'm really excited to see this! I have to catch it in like, July of '06 though because it's coming to Chicago when I'm in London

The girl playing Meg (Renee Brna) is one of my closest friends and she is AMAZINGLY talented just so you all know. This is her first equity tour. She just finshed a non equity tour of Oklahoma produced by the same people. She was in upstate NY all last summer doing regional work. You'll love her. She is not only talented with a beautiful voice, but one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She is also barely 21 years old. Hope that helps some of you.

Let me just say how much I love Andrew Varela. I saw him as Valjean in Les Mis, and had no clue how he was just the understudy. I am not familiar with his role in LW, but suffice it to say he will do fine.

"these girls" though little known to me also, are more than likely as talented as many others who have joined the numerous Broadway tours over the years. My point is ...if a popular show casts credible talent it will do fairly well regardless of a familiar name.

Speaking of familiar names, other than the Broadway community and it's internet fans how many people do you think have heard of Sutton Foster or Kristin or Idina or Raul or Butz or Nathan Lane? You'd be surprised that most occassional to non frequent theater goers haven't a clue who they are.

If the talent is good and people enjoy the production that's all they'll remember. And they won't remember the names regardless of the talent if they're not "into" or assoc. with Broadway theater.

There's only a small handfull of names that many people assoc. with Broadway stage and they are not currently on Broadway.

I saw Kate Fisher in My Fair Lady at Syracuse Stage in Syracuse NY, obv. and she was amazing. She didn't really strike me as having the kind of voice that Sutton has... but she was AMAZING none the less.

Last year, she opened the NYC premiere of Shrug Like You Mean It (Kraine Theatre).

Isn't Julie Burdick the stand-by? She was Laurie on the same Oklahoma! tour.
