That's typical ALW. He's not dismissing her performance. He's distracted and looking around, trying to gauge the reaction of everyone around him to her performance. When he "comes back to Earth" he joins in with the standing ovation once he realizes everyone's standing up. That's his usual slightly awkward demeanor.
That's also Sarah's mother sitting between Liza and ALW.

Except that this thread refers back to 1989, to some Grammy thing. I couldn't sit through the song, but Angela Lansbury's introduction was nice.
I skipped to the end to see the 1.5 seconds of Liza, and agree it deserves its own thread.

I guess the fact that we have different taste, makes the world go 'round, I find SARAH's performance not only thrilling when it comes to her vocals, but although she may not be the best actress, I think she did a great job with the acting too this time.
I thought the guy next to LIZA was magician David Coperfield.
