Interestingly though theymake no announcement that Cortes is out and Murphy is on. No insert in the playbill either. It's only on the board in the lobby. I thought per equity that they have to do two of the three ways to announce an understudy? I have been three nights so far...going back for my fourth tonight and each time it's been the same. No announcement, no insert. Just the notice on the board. Doesn't matter to me as I think Murphy is amazing in the role but listening to conversations during intermission....people think they are seeing Cortes as they don'tlook at the board coming in."
Huh. I had no idea that he wasn't the one who was one since I didn't look at the board. Weird not to have an insert.

DPAC: "The show traveled to Durham from Detroit and transportation delays resulted in some of the key sets and staging arriving later than expected which in turn caused the set-up time to run longer than planned."

Last night's show started at 7:40 - I only consider that about 5 minutes late since nothing ever starts until at least 7:35. One tiny issue with the turntable near the beginning but other than that everything seemed to go smoothly.

It's probably a lot easier for the actor and his skin not to have to apply prosthetics 8 times a week. And since the Phantom's deformity isn't addressed as extensively as it is in Phantom of the Opera I think its fine to go with a simpler design. Having said that, it could be so much better. I've seen 3D make up effects done with just highlights and shading that make it look almost as if the wearer is using a prosthetic. They could have attempted something like that.

I was surprised at how minimal the makeup was in the video. Maybe with all these delayed curtain times, they figured it's best to go with something that doesn't take nearly as much time as in the original.
They should hire someone from RuPaul's Drag Race to show them how to beat a face to maximum effect.

I noticed at 50 seconds in on the Character Study video the Phantom's ring is in a Stacy Adams ring box. Is that wear that ring comes from??? I never knew that. Unfortunately, I can't find it online anywhere. I'd love to have one!! I'm sure they probably made it special for the show.

No idea. I'm afraid I don't even know who Stacy Adams is.

I often also thought why dont they just do the Phantom's makeup as face paint rather than prosthetic, but then it occurred to me that doing it painted on can almost take longer to do since most of the painting on the prosthetic is done beforehand.

Based on Meghan's Instagram Post it doesn't look or sound like it. He was certainly out when we saw the show in Baltimore. Now that Ramin Karimloo is leaving Anastasia maybe he could be brought back onboard as Erik...especially if LND is heading to Broadway!!!?????????? https://instagram.com/p/BbFTOw3FmBb/

The booking agent and producers really screwed the pooch - who thought that scheduling a long jump of a large tour that early on in the itinerary would go well?

Just got back, he was good but the voice was a bit weaker than Bronson Norris Murphy and of course I have not seen Garoar Cortes. Meghan Picerno was outstanding although her voice seemed more strained relative to her Tuesday evening performance.

Ugh. NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Ramin already ruined the 25th anniversary recording, isn't that enough?
Also, he has his own gigs already scheduled in London. I don't think he has any desire to play Phantom again.
Has anyone else seen local TV advertising for the LND tour? I was in a doctor's office waiting room on Monday morning and heard an unexpected snippet of familiar music; I looked up and was surprised to see an ad for the tour on the TV.
