"Yes, two names who couldn't fill a movie theater with one screening should lead a film of a musical that couldn't fill one house one time with full price seats. It'll be a hit!"
I can't think of any up and coming Hollywood actress that would do this musical that could belt the high E needed for Lysistrata's big ballad. Unless they're thinking of Lea Michelle for the part, but... No.
That might as well let Patti do the part. Market her as the next Reese Witherspoon or something.

How would that work exactly? And Introducing Patti Murin (the Next Reese Witherspoon)! I don't think that's how marketing works.

I love Douglas Carter Beane, but thought this was a big disappointment on stage. I saw the off Broadway version and am shocked it actually jumped to Broadway. I thought it was passable off Broadway. I can't fathom who thinks this film will make a profit.
Why can't they make a film of a hit like "Anything Goes" instead?
This was the one about cheerleaders withholding sex so the basketball players win a game or something, right?
It could probably be one of those movies that have a strange little cult following like NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE. I definitely wouldn't see it.
I'm really excited to see what the movie will be like since I was a fan of the show.

'Twas just a joke.

I enjoyed this show tremendously. Not sure how it would translate to the screen, but I wish everyone on the project the best...

Totally trying to capitalize off the popularity of Glee. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a Lysistrata Jones/Glee crossover.
As I've noted before, I didn't see the show. But... the cast album is really charming. I feel like it has great potential to be a fun film.
