The Pope saw this and tweeted that apparently God is dead.
I don't hate it. I had trouble sitting through it as a stage show, but I think it could work as a film... I could see it as a cult hit.
Interesting. Not living in NYC this is one I was interested in and never got to see.
This flop show has more lives than a cat, and for no apparent reason.
Why is it never the GOOD flops that are treated so well?
Because movie-going kids don't wanna see Grey Gardens
"Because movie-going kids don't wanna see Grey Gardens"
Well it would be movie-going adults who would see Grey Gardens. And they have more money than movie-going kids who get their money from movie-going adults.

Why so many haters? We should be happy that Broadway is being represented in movies! So many negative Nancey's on here!
That's like saying Pauley Shore & Shannon Tweed are doing a film version of FOLLIES but we should be happy that Broadway is being represented on film.

Pauley Shore! Yes, sounds like a hit.
Right after my post, I realized I was thinking of Bring It On, and the only thing I had right about LYSISTRATA was Patti Murin and that it was difficult to sit through (though she was great). I still stand by my post, but oy, I forgot how odd that show was. (For the record, I really enjoyed Bring It On; I just morphed the shows into one while posting.)
For those who want to see some clips from Broadway...

Patty and Emily deserve to be in this film.
Oh I loved this show, and I think it could lend itself quite nicely to a movie adaptation! I'm quite happy for them.

Rainbowhigh23 I agree -- Patty & Emily!!
Yes, two names who couldn't fill a movie theater with one screening should lead a film of a musical that couldn't fill one house one time with full price seats. It'll be a hit!
This is so not the kind of shows I want to see on the big screen.
Broadwayworld just broke this story 20 minutes after it was posted here. How cool is that?!

I missed the Patty & Emily screening-what was it?
Truly one of the worst shows I've ever seen.
Just a wretched idea! They think this is High School Musical but they is wrong.
