Posted: 6/6/07 at 11:37pmsure Zac Efron is impossibly gorgeous and innocently sexy and all that, but you haven't lived till you hear the chubby 47 year old composer sing this song, yelping like a Jewish dog caught in a bear trap!

Marc: I'm totally a fan of the lyrics. They sent me through an ethos rollercoaster! Namely:
Hey little girl, lookin' for a sale?
Then test-drive this American Male
It's gonna take cash to fill my tank
So let's crack open your piggy bank
I was giggling because the car metaphor reminded me of the car metaphor in "Brokeback Mountain" when Gyllenghal say to Hathaway:
Fast or slow, I just like the direction you're going
Then I got sad because I realized that was a gay love story. And this is a song about good ol'-fashioned heterosexual couples. And soooo many of us theatre queens won't ever be able to sing and swing to woo the ladies like that. Gays didn't exist in the 60s, right?
Then I thought: Get over yourself! This is such a hoppin' beat and look at Blonsky shake her thang!
And then I rewound and listened to the lyrics again and it hit me... Link Larkin is singing a song about male prostitution!

Dear Marc,
I really like "The Real Truth Lies."
"Running Together, Never Apart" is a really pretty song.
That's all,

Sorry.. I had to edit an absolutely hilarious end comment on the song which Marc and I felt was a little too off-color...
