Last Pop Broadway hit song

What was the last Broadway song that was a hit on the pop charts? Of course not counting the Disney movie songs. I cant personally think of any since maybe "One Night in Bangkok" from Chess.

Woops, sorry, I just realized that's for the whole album, not the song. Back to the drawing board!

The last #1 hit on the US charts was Louis Armstrong's version of "Hello, Dolly!"

Lol...ok Ill accept even one that hit in the top 50 or so songs...and yes I mean songs not albums. I just cant remember ANY in the last 20 years that got any significant radio play.

Did "Seasons of Love" make the charts?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Humm...it reached #33 in 2005(???). I was thinking that was the only possible one lately, though I was expecting for it to be in the 90's...oops wait that was the Movie release...ok thats CHEATING! Im still going with Bangkok. And before that...Memory? Thatd be 1981 and without a doubt a huge hit.

How about Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life" (#15 on Billboard's Hot 100) and Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl" (#7 on Billboard's Hot 100)?

When did Wicked make the pop charts?

And, can we really consider Jay-Z or Stefani? It was largely sampling that they did.

When the Evita movie came out I believe "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" was on the pop charts and got a ton of radio play.

I could have sworn Someone Like You from Jekyll and Hyde hit the charts, but I'm not entirely sure. No Matter What was definitely on the UK charts, but I don't know about the US. Did Boyzone ever hit the US charts at all?
