I was wondering what you all thought should have won the main categories.

The male awards seem right to me.
Tonya Pinkins should have beated Idina.
I can't remember the other candidates for Featured Female, so Anika, I guess
'Caroline or Change' should have won, but Q is fine, I guess

I think you opened a can of worms AND should use the Search feature...

Best Book - AVENUE Q
Best Score - TABOO
Best Actress - Tonya Pinkins
Best Actor - Alfred Molina

I think Hunter should have won.
And of course, I would have loved it if Raúl had won.

Honestly, I don't think opening another thread is doing any harm. You're the only person, so far, who doesn't seem to mind it.
Chrys: Did you see ASSASSINS, or any of the other performers against Hunter Foster?

You mean I DO seem to mind it...
And it's beacause we;ve gone through this with tears and jeers!

I didn't say I thought Raul should win! I just said I would have loved it if he had!
And yes, I did see all the performers against Hunter Foster. But he was my favorite.

I think Hunter should have one...
But Hugh was an obvious winner and he kept a show alive...
Ah, I understand. Of last year, my favorite performers weren't alwys who really deserved it - in my opinion. For example:
My favorite performances last year were Euan Morton and Raul Esparza...but as far as awards, I felt that Molina and Cerveris deserved it. Guilty pleasures!
I looooove Avenue Q, but I was expecting "Wicked" to win best musical. Everything else seemes right.

Avenue Q winning best musical was fine, but I was shocked that they won best book. As funny as it is, I think the book to WIcked is much better
Taboo deserved to win best score, hands down.
I wish Raúl had won, but Cerveris deserved it.

I love wicked, and think in any other year it would have, and should have won, but avenue q deserved it (musical) it was fresh, hip, witty, and the fuzzy feeling you have when you leave the theatre is unsurmountable.

Q probably won best score on its lyrics. The actual music isn't really all that exciting.

No, and I can no longer listen to the Cd without wanting to scratch off my ears...
In fact, I don't listen to Wicked anymore - but not because it makes me want to kill myself...
The lyrics are a riot, and i love them! No, it's no JRB music, but the lyrics are what broadway needed! AND the tunes, as simple as they are, have people tapping on their chairs/ desks/ cars/ books, etc for WEEKS (and for me, months! haha) after the show

Yes they may be funny but can funny take away from the fact at how amazing Defying Gravity or For Good are? I dont think so... no contest there..
