Fantabulous, I tried looking up listings for a bunch of movies on Moviefone, and it seems like quite a few of the ones that aren't brand new (Rent, Harry Potter, Walk The Line) aren't showing listings beyond the 15th, while the newer movies (Brokeback Mountain, Narnia) are showing listings up through the 22nd.
I saw that as well. I know HP and WTL will still be in theaters. I wonder if I called the actual theater if they would know.
I'm bringin back this thread because RENT's no show at the GG's may further affect its screen count. I know people love the film and feel like its going to stick around or a while - but I'm just saying -- I think its going to disappear fast -- see it now if you want the big screen experience.
i checked fandango - by friday the movie is history in miami.
I called the theatre that I usually go to (in LA) and they said its there till January-they didnt know the exact date though..
hmm well i guess i will have to go see it for the 6th time...
I am seeing it again tonight so thanks for the info!
I hate how short theater runs are any more. The one good thing is that the wait from theater to DVD is incredibly short now.
My local theater is still showing it but it cut down on showings.
Small Victory ...
With our local theater filling up with Kong and Narnia, all the older films are showing fewer times... but Rent still has 4 showings a day and Harry Potter only has 3. :) I'll take my small victories where I can get 'em!

Well here where I live...it will at least be running until dec. 20 they dont have the scheudle posted for after that date...so i still have a little while longer...maybe to see it a seventh time..
Damn, the movie just kind of went *poof* today here in SLC, Utah. It has one theatre over a half hour away from me,in West Jordan, tonight, which is my only night off. I'm still going. It will have one other theatre, in the city proper, by Friday, though the showtimes make it impossible for me to see again until next Wed, my next day off,
They have a local movie, The Work & The Glory, about the Mormons or whatever, that has been in the large theatres for going on two years...nothing against them really, nice people, but geeeeez.
Anyone have an idea of when RENT will hit its second run?

As of today it is no longer in my local theatre, or in the town over here in NJ. The closest one is about 30 min. away. Guess I will be dragging my best friend with me this weekend
AHH, this is so depressing. The 19th is the last day I can see it in theatres near me.

::tears:: I don't know what I'll do without being able to see it twice a week. Does this mean that I have to go back to my real life now? ::gasp:: Not cool.
and pathetically wait for the DVD

Will the release date of the DVD come sooner than it would have otherwise now?
I saw the show last night w/ my mom and we got our own private screening. We were the only two in the theater. I must say that I am sad that people aren't seeing the movie but it was pretty sweet to have a huge theater to ourselves.

It's gone from the two theaters in my town....*wipes tears*..This makes me really sad, but considering the big moives are shown on multiple screens and the theaters around here are pretty small, it makes sense. I'll have to drive about 30 mins to see it again. No big deal.

I went to the very last showing at my local theatre last night. When I came out of the theatre, they had the posters all switched around, and Rent was under "Coming Soon". I went today and asked if it was coming back. The girl at the ticket counter told me that they just lost it for Wednesday and Thursday, and that it would be back on Friday for at least another week. I just checked the theatre's website, and it is indeed coming back on Friday... and staying until Wednesday of next week. WEIRD.
I noticed it was no longer in the theater by me today when I walked by. Makes me sad. I do want to see KING KONG though.
Thanks for the warning. I must see it one more time , to hold me together untill the DVD.
Ok so nevermind what I said about it being in LA until January, its ending today and my friends and I are gonna go see it twice at the Grove at 505 and 810(if anyone lives in LA and wants to come with us...) We're gonna sing and dance and through the whole thing! I'm soooo sad its ending!
It looks like the Union Square multiplex will have its last showing of RENT on the 20th. Hopefully I'll find the time to see it one last time before then.

RENT is still playing at the Ritz in Philadelphia (yay!)until at least 12/22. It is also playing at the Ritz in South NJ for that time. And also at the Lowes in Cherry Hill, NJ.
