Last night while going to see OTHER DESERT CITiES

When I approached the sidewalk of Once, it was a mad house, so I went around the massive crowd into the street and two guys screamed out me (they were in suits) to get on the sidewalk. I gave them a Wtf look and then someone told me the President on Ireland was coming. A minute later 15 vehicles pull up and a group of secret service guys jump out of a SUV and people start piling out of vans. The President was dropped off right in front of the house.

Next at ODC, I happened to be sitting right in front of Stephen Byrd, during intermission we had a chat about the best actresses and I don't think he had love for Stockard but couldn't stop raving about Linda Lavin. Does he get to vote as a producer?

On the way out, again I was walking in the street and I literally bumped into Candice Bergen coming out of The Best Man.

It was some evening to say the least. I love New York so much.

That's cool that that happened to you. The only thing that happened to me that was similar was outside of City Center, during Merrily We Roll Along. I was hanging out outside the theatre and Sara Jessica parker and Matthew Brodrick got out of a car. A couple people were saying hello to them, and they responded back nicely. Due to the fact that the audience consisted of a much older crowed, you could tell that they were more likely to be polite rather than being star struck and jumping up and down. Not as interesting as what happened to you. But, still cool though.

Yeah, I was in row M, right orchestra on the aisle. I thought that noise was coming from the theater next door maybe, not the one we were in. How strange.

And it has been said on this board before that people who see Once can sometimes hear Phantom.

I was stagedooring back in 2005 for Sweeney Todd, hoping to get an audience, if albeit for a brief second, with Patti. The crowds were insane and I was so far from the barricades I felt hopeless. I stood by her Escalade hoping to at least get a glimpse through the car window and all of a sudden, she bolts from the crowd screaming and pointing at a group who were standing near me. She climbs through the car and exits about a foot away from me. She says hello to the group then turns and says hello to me. They give her a bracelet and she turns to me and says, "Look! My friend made this bracelet for me! Isn't it nice?!"

Also, I think in the early 90s at a Blood Brothers stagedoor Nicole Kidman and David Cassidy walked by us. I was excited to meet Jan Graveson from Eastenders who was in the show.
