aww yay! And your picture rocks more. It's adorable. I think I read on one of the other topics you were going to see Kevin's Robbie in September, you won't be disappointed at all. I am hopefully getting back there myself to see Kevin at some point that week.
I hate to bash any performer, because it is a tough job....BUT seriously, what is the deal with her? I agree w/what's been posted above. She gets cast, a month or so into the run she's out on medical leave. I don't know how she doesn't have a bad wrap with the directors.

That is true and is none of our bussines
I think the fact that it's none of our business is why many people can't understand why she keeps getting cast in shows. I imagine she doesn't have a "bad wrap" (as ilive4nyc put it) with the directors because they know what's going on.

exactly. the directors all know whats going on with her. they know its out of her control. they hired her for her talent and im sure they want her back just as much as we all do but they know whats going on and they accept that she needs this time to recover.
Maggie, youuuu have a PM!

It is my business when I spend $100 to see a performer who never shows up. OK, she shows up sometime, just not the times that I have spent my hard-earned $100. And yes, the understudies in the instances where this has happened have been good, but they are not people I came to see.

well thats why shes taking time off. so she can get better and be in every performance so you can get to see who you want to.

Would you rather pay $100 to see the performer you want, but who's sick and will probably sound like they're giving a half-assed performance ... or their understudy who is in perfect health and sounds wonderful and is just as good? I don't know about *you*, but I'd be going with the latter if we're talking $100 a ticket here.. I pay that much to see the show, not to see a specific performer.

So what is the matter with her? Inquiring minds want to know....
I think if she wanted people to know, she would have said in the note she posted.
What Lea said.
iluvtheatertrash knows, but it's a little secret between "lil bro" and "big sis". He assures us that she is wonderful and fantabulous and his best friend in the entire -- that she's good. He's keeping a close watch and will tell us when he has updates, just not what the updates are.
LOLOLOLOL! Thanks for being the voice of reason today, Wanna Be a Foster.
That was uncalled for. This is a thread about Laura, not Luv. He hasn't even posted in this thread, so please leave him out of it.
To those who believe Laura is healing up so she can go back to "hitting 'em out of the park" nightly at the Hirschfeld....
Laura will never appear onstage as Julia Sullivan again.
p.s. Foster, you scoundrel!
Laura will never appear onstage as Julia Sullivan again. ,/i>
Really? You know that for a fact?
The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Rabble Rabble Rabble. Jeez everyone! Get over it!
Laura Benanti haters- yes we know what you think, it has been said on this and 5 other threads this week alone.
Laura Benanti 'lil brothers' and lovers- Yes, we also know by now that you like her, we don't need to hear the complete opposite argument of what the others say, it is just as annoying and if anything, more annoying because what the haters say is mostly true at least.
It gets to be what we call a standstill. Thats all these threads get like.
that's kinda what i dont get, if it's a valid medical reason why not state it?
My thoughts: if you're sick, do you run around telling strangers exactly what's wrong with you? No. You tell your friends, and you tell your employer what's wrong if you have to call out of work. I don't see how this is much different.
But over a thousand people aren't coming to watch you work at your office daily. It's a little bit different, they can't be compared.
i would be much more sympathetic, if she simply said that it was a virus or something concrete, i think it may be a case of crying wolf where this has happened so much that even if it true people simply will not believe it.
