Good for her. Loved her in NINE. I wonder if this will cut into her TV show she has coming out in the fall?

I think she'll do great.

There's gonna be a fight for theatres in 2006. Wedding Singer, Catch Me If You Can, whole list of shows I'm blanking out on.

Hm, thats not the voice I was picturing for the character, but that's just me. I'm sure she'll be great, I love her on all the cast recordings she's on!

I'm not quite seeing it...I guess we shall see. I've never actually seen her in anything (just heard recordings and seen her at a Sh-K-Boom concert or two). I can't say that I'm a huge fan from what I've seen of her, but maybe she'll prove me wrong!

The most important part of this role is charm - she has a gorgeous voice, but is she cute (personality wise) enough?

absolutely

if you saw the world aids day pippin concert...her catherine was an absolute delight: Laura was so charming and brought such a warmth and presence to the character that I find is usually lacking.

I'm so happy that she landed another role!

For those that are worried about her voice being appropriate, rest assured that she has a lovely mix/belt as well as her glorious soprano. She sings a medley of Day By Day and Beautiful City on the Stephen Schwartz CD. Go listen to it. She mix/belts the whole thing.

I think that Laura Benanti is very talented. I enjoyed her work in "Into the Woods" and "Nine". But, I just don't see this. She'll probably prove me wrong, though.

PS - I also think that Laura Bell Bundy would be an excellent Holly Sullivan.

It's a different role for Laura. I'm just glad she has one!

There aren't many roles for legit singers these days. Especially in new works. The tourists don't seem to take as well to them. They like hearing the kinds of voices they would hear on the radio. There's no legit soprano to be found on the radio these days.

I'm a big fan of hers (and Felicia Finley) and so glad to see them back on Broadway. What happened to Amy Spanger? Wasn't she playing this role in the workshops?

Amy Spanger makes more sense. She seems more akin to Drew Barrymore. I'm still happy for Laura!

How old is the character spose to be?
any how many shows does she have to do a week?
is the law suit against her from "Into The Woods' been settled'
Loved her in NINE, not so much in PIPPIN or HAIR concerts
Is she the Ellen Greene of the new Millenium?
Amazingly Talented and Impossible to work with?
