Lauren Ambrose's Attendance

Hello, hello!  I am so excited, I have tickets to My Fair Lady tomorrow afternoon!  How has Lauren Ambrose's attendance been?  I haven't heard that she doesn't do matinees or anything, so, I'm hoping and praying for the best!  :)

Well, I guess you haven't heard that she was out for 4 consecutive performances last weekend/Tuesday, due to vocal issues. That being said, I would be surprised if she was out again so soon, but, then again, anything can happen in the world of live theatre.

Wow!  I had not heard/read that.  Thanks for that info.  I hope she's feeling better (and ready for tomorrows matinee) :P

She was in last night. She coughed once into the microphone. Other times she coughed as she walked offstage and when the microphone was off. She sounded wonderful though.

I think you’ll be fine. I saw it Wednesday night - she had returned from being sick for the matinee that day - and had I not known she was sick, I wouldn’t have known. She blew me away that she was able to pull off a performance like that when she was clearly feeling lousy. And I have to assume she’s gradually been feeling better. Enjoy the show!

(Also, given that it’s the height of Tony voting season, there’s no way she’d miss unless there was just no other option.)

Out of 80+ performances, she's missed only 4. I'd say chances are good that she will be in and that you'll love her performance :)
