Congrats to them as well as Jane Lynch for their Golden Globe nominations for GLEE (which was also nominated for Best Comedy TV Series).
Ridiculous.
Thanks, SherbertAlley, for sharing your insights.
Shubert, actually. Though now I want sherbert. I do love Jane Lynch, but there are really no two better performances on television right now than Lea Michele and Matt Morrison?
Apparently, according to the Golden Globes nominating committee, there are only 4 possibly better performances in each of their categories.
If it's any consolation to the Lea Michele and Glee hay-turz, Lea is unlikely to win over Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Toni Collette and Courteney Cox. And Matt is unlikely to win over Steve Carrell, Alec Baldwin and David Duchovny.
And Glee would have to win over Modern Family, The Office, Entourage and 30 Rock.
But I could see Jane Lynch winning.
I phrased that badly. I meant two other performers doing better jobs on television right now.
I don't hate Lea Michele, I just think it's ridiculous that she was nominated. I'm calling Toni Collette.

Im sorry but i think the pair of them along with Jane are doing some fantastic work in Glee.
Congrats
Don't be sorry. That's your opinion. I think the whole show is stupid, badly written (except for some of Lynch's stuff), completely uneven, and that they've autotuned the emotion out of it. That "Imagine" number left me completely cold.

If Jane Lynch wins over Janet McTeer for Into the Storm I will cry icy tears.

Please, the Golden Globes gave Madonna an award for best actress. The Glee folks could easily win.
Yeah the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has a history of making some rather....strange decisions, so the people from Glee could very well win. Although I think it'd be a crime if Glee won over Modern Family or 30 Rock.

Congrats to Jane Lynch. That role she has been playing for the last decade finally paid off.

I'm loving that comment, Tom. So true.
But really... Matthew Morrison? Are you kidding me?!?! He's a f*cking joke.
LOL Tom

I have to join the chorus of EL OH ELs for Tom. So true, although maybe what clinched it for her was the scene where she read to her sister.
I will confess to being emotionally manipulated during that scene, Phyllis.
I guess you guys don't get it. Or perhaps I don't.
I don't know if it was the creators' intention or not, but the outcome is perceived by myself as thus: the bad acting, the casting, the writing, the camp....it's all part of the STYLE of the show! I think it's supposed to be a nonrealistic reality packaged with purposeful awfulness that audiences just can't get enough of.
And if my perception of it all wasn't intended by the creators, then "oh well." It's why I enjoy it. I don't think it's GOOD, but it is certainly enjoyable. On par with HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, except the marketed audience has been expanded to include adults.
That's not even the issue CapnHook. The issue is that there are many more deserving people who deserve nominations in those categories. Especially in Lea's and Jane's categories.

Congrats also to another former Broadway Kid, Anna Kendrick.

First of all, I'm not sure intentional camp is actually camp at all. Second of all, I do not believe it was their intention to create a so-bad it's good show.
Congrats also to another former Broadway Kid, Anna Kendrick.
Seriously! And a very deserving nomination at that. If you haven't seen Up in the Air, go soon!!!

I don't understand the appeal of Jane Lynch, she plays the SAME character over and over again. The way the GLEE casts talks about her you'd think they were working with Brando.
I think this woman is annoying and not great at all.
Great, I can already see Lea Michele's head getting even bigger now!

I'm happy for them. I'm glad some new, original non-reality shows could survive. However, my problem with the show is that they try and camp it up and have stupid plot twists (someone gets preggers in a jacuzzi....what?), but then they twist it and have like these heart felt episodes to make us sympathize with the kid in the wheelchair. What? The reason they put the kid in the wheel chair in a show choir is for the purpose of humor. So then to yank that rug from underneath and try and make this big statement about disabled people.... it just doesn't work. If you're going to have quirky, controversial humor (which they do well), then keep that and don't try and force sentiment.
