Wow, some of you guys are so harsh! haha
I personally feel that all the Glee nominations are very well deserved :)
And no, I don't think it's "intentionally bad acting". Absolutely, the show is meant to be campy and a heightened reality and all that. But what I personally like about it is that it also has a lot of heart. And I think that's in large part due to the fact that the cast is very talented.
Jane Lynch might be playing a similar character to what she's played in the past, but she IS quite brilliant at it and I think she totally deserves the recognition. Matt was definitely nominated based on the Will/Terri scene in Mattress, and I'm totally cool with that! I thought he did an amazing job with that scene- it was so real and raw. And Lea, although she IS basically playing herself, is definitely adorable and I really can't imagine anyone else as Rachel Berry
So yeah, I love all three of them! :) And I love that the show got nominated as well! Sure, it has its weaknesses, but the parts that are good are really really great, for me. Some of the over all plotlines are/were obnoxious, but within each episode there were some fantastic moments, some really great writing, and wonderful acting
My only thing is I wish Chris Colfer had been nominated as well (if they had to keep it to 4, I'd say Chris is more deserving than Lea if only because Lea basically IS Rachel). But, you know, what are you gonna do?
I do disagree with nominating Lea, but I think Matthew Morrison is doing a pretty great job. In the beginning his pep did get irritating but that scene he had with his wife when ***SPOILER*** he finds out she isn't really pregnant made me tear up. I don't know if it's worthy of a Globe WIN but a nomination doesn't seem THAT crazy. Then again I don't watch a whole lot of TV so I don't really know how his performance as a whole compares to the other nominees (or potential nominees).
Maybe it was the fact that I HEARD the scene was great before I saw it, but I thought his acting was atrocious. As in, I was laughing out loud at how badly he was indicating.

I thought he just scrunched up his face and they dabbed some glycerin under his eyes.
As much of the Glee supporter that I am, I have also no problem seeing reality. I am very happy to see Matt (Lea doesnt do much for me, but congrats) getting the nom but put against the actors in that category I do not expect a win. I honestly was only expecting to see the show itself and Jane Lynch up for awards.

Yet no one from Community got nominated? Weak.
I like the show, and don't mind seeing Morrison up there, but I think there were far superior and overlooked contenders, specifically:
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Recreation, Nurse Betty, How I Met Your Mother
Amy Poehler, America Ferrera, Mary Louise Parker
The Golden Globes likes to reward new (and popular) shows, so not much of a surprise.
I forgot about CURB, how can they nominate Matthew Morrison over Larry David? That's pretty crazy.
First of all, I'm not sure intentional camp is actually camp at all.
If that were true, John Waters would have no career.
Good for Glee. The award shows' comedy categories have been getting monotonous in recent seasons, but Ugly Betty has fallen off the radar, and the NBC comedies are decreasing in quality; it was only a matter of time before a new show picked up the slack.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Recreation, Nurse Betty, How I Met Your Mother
Add Cougar Town and Ugly Betty (which has had a great season so far, much improved from last season) to this list.
Amy Poehler, America Ferrera, Mary Louise Parker
Add Felicity Huffman here.
My problem with Jane's nomination...
Yes she is the most deserving of the 4 nominations, BUT she is in the category for TV series, miniseries, and made for TV movie. The other 4 nominees are either in movies or HBO series. Jane is the only one from a basic network show. They have basically named her the single best supporting actress on network TV, which is blatantly not the case. Rachel Griffiths for Brothers and Sisters, Vanessa Williams for Ugly Betty, and Jane Krakowski for 30 Rock all come to mind.

I'm happy Jane and Matt are nominated. And I absolutely LOVED the confrontation scene with Will and Terri! I am however rooting for Modern Family to win just 'cuz I think it's a better show.

I honestly can't fathom how I'm supposed to buy that Lea Michele is giving a better performance week-to-week than Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler, The Middle's Patricia Heaton, and Modern Family's Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, or that Matthew Morrison is better than Modern Family's Ed O'Neill, the marvelous Ty Burrell, HIMYM's Josh Radnor, Scrubs' Zach Braff, Better off Ted's Jay Harrington, and Community's Joel McHale.
Don't even get me started on the fact that Jeremy Piven gets nominated for every award under the sun year after year for playing himself in a show that has been careening downhill for seasons now. How about Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Chris Colfer, Ed Helms, Rainn Wilson, Nick Offerman, Jason Segel, Danny Pudi, John C. McGinley, or Leslie David Baker get a shot?

You all act like these award nominations are methodically thought out or something. It's the Golden Globes!
The Golden Globes are the "Thank you, you did a good job" award. Meaning they will not get nominated for any other award past the GG. Look at all the past winners, Renee, Richard, Brokeback Mountain, etc...most of these actor's and movies get nominated and win to show that they are doing good work, but then do not get nominated for any higher award than that or if they do, they do not win the higher award. So, I see it like this...if you did not see any of your favorite TV shows on the GG list then you will most likely see them be nominated for an Emmy come nomination time. Lea, Jane, Matthew and most of the GG nominees will not be nominated for an Emmy. Just what I have witnessed in the past. Especially for shows and actor's that are hyped up a lot.
Exciting for Glee, Matt Morrison and Lea Michele.
A little sad that Community and Parks & Rec, HIMYM and Big Bang Theory were left off the list. Not many quality shows left on tv....
Congratulations to the Cast and Crew of the show. They are honoroed just to be nominated, and it may lead other projects for Lea and Matt. Sometimes except the unexpected.
I hope Princess and The Frog wins best animated. I feel nine will pick up 3 awards out of 5. So excited to see Nine.

Who referred to my comments indicating that I acknowledged it was bad acting...
That's not what I think at all. I think it's good acting. Maybe not strong acting, but their portrayals of their stereotypes are so perfect - they give human life to it. It's not just the big black girl, the girl-who-likes-the-jock-and-has-no-friends, the asian, the guy in the wheelchair, the football player, the cheerleader, etc. Each actor brings background, moment-to-moment, relationships, and emotion.
So it is serviceable acting. Not only that, but either they are directed to (or do it on their own) play to the script, which is what my comments earlier are.
And anyone who think Matthew Morrison is less deserving than actors in other shows have surely not seen his dramatic scenes in GLEE. His nomination is well-deserved and is surely not a "waste of a slot."
And WHAT is all this COMMUNITY love? That show is awful.

PiraguaGuy2: Amen! The cast of Modern Family are all doing outstanding jobs. There's not a weak leak among them - including the children. How Ty Burrell didn't get nominated is a surprise to me.
I feel nine will pick up 3 awards out of 5.
Nine has a chance at 2 (if not only 1) awards, and even those could be a stretch. If anything, it is most likely to win for Daniel Day-Lewis (though my money is on Michael Stuhlbarg for A Serious Man). It could win Best Picture - Musical or Comedy because we all know how the Hollywood Foreign Press loves its musicals. I still think Julie and Julia is the one to beat here though.
It won't win Best Actress (Cotillard will lose to Streep for J&J hands down), Best Featured Actress (Cruz has TOUGH competition here with Mo'Nique as the front-runner, but Anna Kendrick and Julianne Moore not far behind), or Best Song (I predict Paul McCartney to win here for Everybody's Fine).

I think this is what the show sets out to do, but I think it fails at it miserably. I do think everyone is exactly the stereotype they are expected to be regardless of how hard the show thinks they are making fun of the stereotypes. I stopped watching after four episodes, the Pilot worked well but really the show is just another high school drama but with music.

According to you, CaptainHooker, yes. They do. G'Damn.... open your eyes a bit more.
I don't get all of the Community love either but the Modern Family cast is absolutely brilliant - miles ahead of 95% Glee cast. easily. Parks & Rec is also leagues above Glee. I just do not get it.
I'm incredibly happy and proud of Matt !!!

I do really wish Chris Colfer would have gotten some recognition. Unfortunately he hasn't gotten quite enough screen time maybe to merit award nominations, but every time he HAS gotten something to really work with, he's SO good! And he's the one with the least professional experience.
If Matt and Lea are considered of the strongest actors on the show, Chris certainly should too
Can't comment on other shows right now because I really don't watch much other TV haha
Question though- has Neil Patrick Harris ever won any awards for HIMYM throughout the years? I'm not really sure, but if not, that's ridic! I don't know that this season is necessarily indicative of his BEST work on the show, but um... he's amazing.
Neil Patrick Harris was favored to win an Emmy this year but John Cryer won out of the blue. Not sure how that happened.
I wanted to love COMMUNITY because I have a huge crush on Joel McHale and love him on THE SOUP, but I couldn't get into the first couple episodes.
