Posted: 3/2/07 at 10:40pmI'm particularly interested in her death scene. In the rehearsal video, she said it was her goal to make it as "un-lovely" as possible.

Posted: 3/2/07 at 10:43pmwell, it's pretty un-lovely to begin with. it's a sick dying weather-beaten prostitute raving mad about her child who isn't there. Lea's pretty much going the right way....

Posted: 3/3/07 at 12:20amI took her un-lovely comment as thought she meant she wouldn't play the death as peaceful, which is what I usually see. In the book, the death was much more tragic.

According to her blog:
"I'm on tomorrow night.
Unannounced, of course. My official opening day is still March 6, but I've been allowed a "preview period" of sorts with the performances this weekend. It'll allow me to get a few shows under my belt before next week.
So, if anyone is inclined to head to the Broadhurst Theater this weekend, please do come. I'd appreciate it very much!
Say a prayer for me, and wish me luck... especially on the barricades that I don't fall and break something!"

Posted: 3/3/07 at 8:09amWill you PLEASE give a last name to the person to whom you consistently refer in the titles of these threads about Lea what's-her-name from LES MIS? There is more than one actress with the first name Lea, namely coming to mind is Lea Michele of SPRING AWAKENING, and it is frustrating to open a thread and dig through the posts to try to figure out who the heck the thread is about and whether or not it will be of interest to me.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

To quote a great BWW philosopher,
Lea DeLaria?
Lea Michele?
Lea Salonga?

Posted: 3/3/07 at 11:21amShe did well - sang beautifully, as expected, but seemed like she was definitely holding back both vocally and emotionally. I think just trying to get her sea legs under her in the role. I've spoken with folks in the production and they say she's a joy to work with. The entire cast gave her a round of applause, and Megan McGinnis (who was on for Eponine), stepped back to allow Lea an extra bow at curtain call.
